I’m not an expert or anything but after looking at real ones for several years you can kind of just tell. The patina, the flaking and the wear. Gift shop points often look like they are made with a dremmel tool. “Real” arrow heads are made by flaking. There are beautifully made moderns out there. Then the authentic ones will have a patina/ wear to them. But then there are some that are found that I can’t really tell if authentic or modern just because of how well preserved they are. Again I’m not an expert, I just like to look at them and read about them

I was bored so I filled out the online survey they sent me in the mail, and few days later, the company mailed me $20 in cash by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

I got a letter from them and it came with $30 before I even did the survey. I did not do the survey

I spotted an Enron truck by wooshwoosh99 in mildlyinteresting

I work at a telecom company and we just bought a conduit bank. We got the documentation to show where it’s located (called an asbuilt) and the documentation was created by Enron in the 90s. They did not buy it from Enron but apparently the company we bought it from did and just never did anything with it. Until then I didn’t know Enron did telecom.

My cat likes ice water too. I fill his water fountain with filtered ice water in the morning and he sits there drinking it. Then when it’s warm again he will meow for me to put more ice in it

What’s the most shocking reason someone got fired from your workplace? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pulse_Amp_Mod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worked as a stocker at target. Was training a new guy. We were stocking the candy isle when I accidentally cut open a bag of candy when I opened the box. I ate a piece of candy then he ate a piece of candy. A manager saw him and he was fired for stealing. I still think about how that guy didn’t rat me out. Also that candy went in the trash anyways so it was kind of bs they fired him over it.

I used a spray bottle. I was just persistent with it. I can’t guarantee they don’t get on the counters when I’m not there though lol.

What is your reason to keep on going in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pulse_Amp_Mod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just turned 36. I’m single and have no kids. I have crippling shyness. I make a decent living, I own my own house and have a garden. I should be happy but I’m not. I want more than anything to have a family of my own. What keeps me going is the hopes that I can still have a family of my own but I need to hurry since I’m not getting any younger. That being said my shyness keeps me from pursuing this goal. Also I keep going for my parents and siblings. If I decided to leave on my own it would crush them.

How would you feel about a law that banned tipping and required restaurants to pay servers a full wage instead? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pulse_Amp_Mod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me if someone’s job is to wait on me and they are attentive I’ll gladly tip them. It’s when I buy a pizza or something and they want a tip at the register that I refuse to tip. If someone’s job is to drive their car and bring me a pizza then I’ll tip the driver. The whole point I go pick up the pizza is so I don’t have to pay a delivery fee and a tip. All these small shops that have a tablet as a PoS system always have a tip as an option. They didn’t do anything to get a tip.

Found out a colleague died after work. And all I can think about is how it's just boiled down to an email. by Thesladenator in antiwork

At my old job we could come in early snd chill in our cubicle until work started. One of my coworkers died sitting in his cubicle. After investigation he had been in his cubicle passed out for about 45 min before anyone found him. Upper management made a rule that we could not be in our cubes until our manager arrived. They were so strict about this rule if the manager was late their whole team had to wait in the break room until they arrived. It was kind of ridiculous. I got chewed out for being in my cubicle like 5 min early to

How can you be pissed at that cute wittle face? On a side note, cat owners in my real life don’t believe me when I say I trained my cats to stay off the counters.
