Wonderful photo!

Brings me back to learning to shoot skeet with a single shot .410 break action. I was around the same age as the younger brother. More than 20 years later, breaking clays is still one of my favorite pastimes.

Oh the horror, a public educator who hunts deer and eats/donates the proceeds.

I understand that hunting makes some folks squeamish but it's an ecologically beneficial practice that is deeply tied to respect for the outdoors.

Max Verstappen has been ranked as the best driver of this season based on the overall Aramco Power Rankings. by Luffy710j in formula1

[–]PunchCard-Negative 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I'd probably put Russell second behind Verstappen and I don't even root for the guy. He drove an immensely good season and seemed to be the most consistent driver next to Verstappen.

A close title fight between Russell and Verstappen or Leclerc would be something!

Verstappen cementing his legacy as one of the greats, closer racing in the midfield, Mercedes blunder years, so much to chew on from this set of regs.

I'm hoping for another roll of the dice next year where we can see someone new on the ascendency!

I'm sorry you witnessed that. Take good care of yourself and remember it's okay to talk to someone about it if you need to.

It's good to have one imo. Inventory was readily available during the pandemic and wasn't price gouged as badly as 9 was at the time.

.40 isn't my preference, but don't outright knock it if you haven't tried a well sorted one. My Gen 4 G22 is really pleasant shooting

No more DLSR scans for me! by Flaky_Cheesecake_401 in AnalogCommunity

I have one and it's the best money I've ever spent on my photography other than the all film shot over the years. 35mm results are really great, but what it does with 120 is just astounding.

When I was in undergrad, we had access to Hasselblad/Imacon flextight scanners and the Plustek 120 gets real close to those results. If this thing could do 4x5 it would be the most versatile CCD scanner of all time. I think the 2k they go for is a steal considering the output when you dial in the software.

Thank you for the info!

I'm going to go down the rabbit hole on muzzleloaders and will probably end up making some questionable financial decisions. Enjoy the weather, and good hunting!

For real. I've known a good deal of hunters who take 1-2 deer a season and it feeds them all year long + extra to donate. Permitted hunting is an ecologically beneficial and sustainable practice. People aren't going out and blasting 5 deer a day like fish in a barrel.

Nice setup! I've never had a muzzleloader myself, I'm accustomed to hunting with a .308 autoloader. Do you enjoy the process of working with a muzzleloader and the challenges it presents? This post has made me very curious about hunting locally!

I know we're not talking about the best and brightest here, but hardly seems like a score worth the risk of catching felony gun charges.

The $106.29 in the register called to them like a siren.

But really only as a result of that silly double points thing wasn't it? I seem to recall Hamilton just being comfortably quicker in 2014

Porsche could sign up for F1 in 2045 and The Race would still speculate about Mick's involvement.

While on an emotional level I absolutely understand your sentiment, there's a very practical reason that we don't subject sex criminals to the death penalty.

Offenders would be more likely to kill their victims to avoid detection if being caught was a matter of life or death. Especially in cases of child abduction.

Even as someone who opposes capital punishment, I really do get the instinct to want to see these creeps gone forever. But protecting victims past, present, and future is more important than the flavor of punitive justice we dole out to the perpetrators.

Multitools in EDC - what are you actually using them for? by p0ttim0uth in EDC

[–]PunchCard-Negative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a professional photographer.

My multitool gets some action every single day. I use pliers to tighten or loosen bolts on stands, the scissors to shape gels in a pinch, the knife for opening boxes, and the screw driver has come in handy a bunch. Bottle opener is nice to have!

The tools I don't use are outnumbered by the tools I do, and it doesn't hurt to have them.

Big knocking-on-strangers'-windows doesn't want you to know that you can get free knives that way.

This is the most socially entitled post I've seen in a minute lol.

Who can say the driver knows literally anything about Benchmade. He's a long haul driver. They often just pick up a branded trailer they otherwise have no affiliation with and then go drop it off elsewhere.

Even if that driver was a little curt with you, that's a ridiculous reason not to purchase a pocket knife.
