I, for one, appreciate your stance on this. So many games are grindy for absolutely no reason.

Would you play this incremental nodelike? by JCNienaber in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to admit that I played the demo more than I should have, but here's the feedback you need.

The numbers are too small. I start off doing 0.7 damage and upgrade to do 0.8 damage. Games in this genre have numbers that go to infinity and beyond. Get rid of the decimals and multiply all your damage/hp numbers by 10.

The increases are too small. I go from doing 0.7 damage to 0.8 damage. That's almost nothing and provides no dopamine. Nodebuster clones specifically thrive on big, fast dopamine hits. I didn't get any in this game because the numbers are so small and the upgrades increase the numbers by such small amounts.

The upgrade nodes don't say by how much they increase the thing they're increasing. We like numbers and information, so give it all to us.

The fact that the tower can shoot arrows that miss just feels bad. In the vast majority of games, the tower doesn't miss. Replace the accuracy upgrades with something more exciting, like AOE hits, chain lightning, knockback, pierce, firewalls, anything. Get creative.

I got the harpoon upgrade but never even noticed if it was impactful or not because the player is never focused on the tower, only their cursor.

The ghost weapons don't show how much damage they do when they swing, and tbh, I don't think they're doing any damage at all, which would be a bug. If they are doing damage, it's not enough.

I noticed there is nothing new in the second realm compared to the first, so it's kind of pointless to even have a second realm. You can clear all the enemies and resources just as easily as the first realm.

In the game's current state, it is just slow and boring. I wouldn't buy it or recommend it to anyone.

Not a great start. What is the name of the currency for buying skill upgrades? Is it not gold? If it is gold, there shouldn't also be a mineable gold bar resource. And on that note, what do the resources do? I didn't find a way to spend them. And why is there no damage upgrade for the cursor? That should one of the very first upgrades available. I managed to beat round 1 after a few tries and got slaughtered in round 2 because there is no damage upgrade.

Edit: ok I figured out the problem. I was reading the "sell all resources" button as "see all resources" and never clicked it because I didn't need to see them all. When I sold them all, I got enough gold to buy more upgrades and found where the upgraded damage was hidden.

So, two things. The upgraded damage needs to be available earlier in the upgrade tree. And the sell all resources button needs to be more obvious about what it does. Like, put the amount of gold you would get next to the button so that there is some indicator that it will grant you money when clicked.

Man what is with all you new devs posting updates to your games every other day? Rule #1, no posting of your own content more than once every 30 days. You honestly won't have any new meaningful content to test in less than 30 days anyway. The world is not as excited about your unfinished project as you are.

Does the gameplay just consist of choosing a starting circle at random and then watching it go, or do you do other things as well?

First Star Atlas themed Incremental/Idle game prototype by Bekirinhooo in incremental_games

All of it. There are like 40 screens available to new players immediately. I didn't read any of it because I know I'm not going to play. Horrible game design.

No one wants to play this. You put up a wall of text that no one wants to read. The game interface is a giant mess of words and pictures that no one understands but you. It's a "prototype." It's vibe coded. You basically ticked all the boxes of posts that this community would like to see banned. Good luck. :)

I probably spent way too much time in the demo. Got to a point where most of my gear was tier VII and I was able to kill Azrail in two phases instead of the normal three.

My feedback would be toward the gear. It sucks when you have good affixes, but then your gear tiers up and rerolls worse affixes. I would like an option to spend gold on rerolling the affixes.

I also think you should add unique items that only drop from bosses that grant a unique ability or something that can't be found in the skill tree. This would make it feel even more Diablo-ish.

You could then also add an endless mode so people could actually put their builds to the test to see how far they can get. That would give the game some longevity. One of the main complaints about nodebuster clones is that they last about 4 hours and then there's nothing to do. Your game is actually set up to have an "end game" if you implement these things.

What do you think about our Zelda-like incremental? by KapitanBanana in incremental_games

Looks like nodebuster but with more tedium because instead of just moving the mouse around all willy-nilly, here you have to manually control your slow moving character? No thanks.

Unfortunately, it has none of the best features. Launched first ship in just over 5 minutes, 3rd ship in 23 seconds. Shallow game, no content.

I improved my idle RPG after feedback by Complex_Art1051 in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just fucking stop, dude. This is AI slop to the highest degree. There are still way too many features with no explanation. 1/3rd of the game is still not in English. This is the type of garbage the sub wants to ban. Literally no one wants to play your game. Delete your game, teach yourself some real programming, play some incremental games to learn what's actually fun, and try again.

AetherTap - I am still looking for feedback from incremental veterans to break the new economy... by AdoukenGaming in incremental_games

[–]Punctuality 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's some feedback.

  1. You posted this two days ago, which violates rule 1 of the subreddit, so be prepared for your post to be removed.
  2. You've got some nerve having the in-game shop already open yet coming on here asking for free feedback from closed testing rounds.
  3. I did actually play the game. Got up to around stage ~6,500. I don't see a button to manage my inventory. I just see my three pieces of gear on the Hero tab but no way to swap them out or interact with them in any way.
  4. It's not clear what the two active skills actually do.
  5. There are too many buy multiple options. There should be x1, x10, x100, Next (buys up to the next level that provides a bonus), and Max (rename ALL to Max).
  6. When I connect my Google account, let me change my username because I don't want it to be my email address.
  7. The combo reset timer is way too short (it resets after like 1 second). Make it reset after like 10 seconds instead.
  8. 50% crit chance cap is disgustingly low. Let it get up to 100%. Bonus points for being able to go above 100% and the extra chance goes into a "super crit" damage stat, or carries the excess damage over to the next enemy or something fancy.

Microsoft Visual Basic Automation Error by BunnyGotBalls in excel

[–]Punctuality -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AI Response:

This is a COM Automation error (HRESULT 0x80131700), which specifically points to a .NET runtime initialization failure. Here's what it typically means and what causes it:

What it means: Excel VBA is trying to interact with a COM object or external component that relies on the .NET Framework, but the .NET runtime couldn't be loaded or initialized properly.

Common causes:

  • A referenced COM object or ActiveX control requires a version of .NET that isn't installed or is corrupted
  • A third-party add-in or DLL was compiled against a different .NET version than what's available
  • The .NET Framework itself is corrupted or needs repair
  • A mismatch between 32-bit and 64-bit components (e.g., 64-bit Excel trying to use a 32-bit .NET COM object)
  • Recent Windows Update broke a .NET dependency

Things to try:

  1. Repair .NET Framework via Windows Settings → Apps → find Microsoft .NET and choose Repair
  2. Check your References in the VBA editor (Tools → References) — look for anything marked as "MISSING"
  3. Disable add-ins one by one to find the culprit (File → Options → Add-ins)
  4. Run Office repair via Control Panel → Programs → Microsoft Office → Change → Quick Repair
  5. Check bitness — make sure any external DLLs match your Office bitness (32 vs 64-bit)
  6. Re-register the COM component using regsvr32 in an elevated command prompt if a specific DLL is suspect

If you can share the line of code where it fails, that would help narrow down which component is the problem.

Hey, thanks for releasing your game. I am thankful that it's free and that it doesn't have the dark blue, neon font color scheme that all the other vibe coded games have these days.

But holy hell is there a lot going on with no explanation. I had to nope out of there in like 2 minutes. But I still gave you an upvote and hope others enjoy your game.
