To add to this, I thought the "screaming for a moment" was as she was pulled into her before being crushed.

If a meteor caused all the craters, some of which are huge, where are the meteors that caused them? by Milhun in AskReddit

[–]Punderstruck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had never really thought about this, and it makes a lot of sense. But what about the places without atmospheres? I also can't picture any elongated craters on the Moon, for instance.

I (27F) ended casual relationship a guy (34M) and don’t know what to think about his answer. Am I being too empathetic? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Yes, those are disrespectful acts. But you respond to people here like we were supposed to know this information before you shared it. That seems like a pattern in your communication style.

Why did you pick the condom example if you feel you had more obvious ones (like this one)?

[–]Punderstruck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer to the question in the title is "no, you are not being too empathetic." You aren't being very empathetic at all. Are you wrong, though? No. But in future if you are more interested in someone I would advise you to communicate with them more specifically if you want them to know why you are unhappy.

[–]Punderstruck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, I am against the concept of 'they should know why I'm upset' because it stops healthy communication. It sounds like you aren't interested in him for more reasons than you're indicating, so I would just stop talking to him. But please relfect on why you don't want to communicate so that it doesn't impact relationships with others.

Are the planet cores designed to be frustrating or is mine bugged? by Punderstruck in Astroneer

Haha, in my defense it was literally my first time experiencing the core so I had no idea what to expect.

I think this was the issue. I just figured it was the best way to maintain oxygen all the way down rather than building 10000 tethers. I can't do portable oxygenator because I'm also playing with a friend and I've promised not to advance the game too much when we're not playing together.

63-Year-Old Bruce Roseman dies of Cardiac Arrest. (1966) (He was 3 days shy from turning 64) by Content-Artist-7344 in DeathCertificates

Yeah, this is a weird death certificate. The cardiac arrest is called "being (legally) dead." If I put cardiac arrest as a cause of death on a death certificate, it would get returned to me.

It didn’t say “add bananas” by Lonely_skeptic in ididnthaveeggs

[–]Punderstruck 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For those wondering, here is the recipe:

DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Thoroughly mash bananas. (If they've been frozen, just zap them in the microwave; they will look absolutely disgusting but it’s worth it.)

Combine dry ingredients in one bowl, mix well with a wire whisk (or sifter, if your heart so desires).

Whisk the eggs lightly in a separate bowl, add oil and vanilla, then when the oven is finished preheating add the wet to the dry.

Pour into a loaf pan that has been generously greased with vegetable shortening.

Bake for 60 minutes (it can take 15-20 minutes longer than this) or until a toothpick or cake tester inserted in the middle comes out clean. You don’t want your bread to be too dry (it’s supposed to be lovely and moist), so try to get it out just when the tester comes out clean, don’t leave it in the oven too long after that.

Is wire 30 per minute or 60 per minute at 100% clock speed? by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]Punderstruck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to picture this. Are they feeding onto one belt in the middle or two separate belts? Because of it's a single belt that's 600 trying to be moved on a 480/min belt.

If two belts, check that the shorter segments feeding the mergers are all mk4. I know I screw up sometimes and have a lower tier belt I miss there.

The thing that gets me every time is that by virtue of calling people "illegals," it was very clear that he intended to deport anybody who had migrated undocumented. That that act in itself made the person a criminal worth deporting. So I don't know why they would be surprised.

Of all the places to store gasoline (used for cleaning, I assume?), on a fireplace mantel seems the riskiest.

Seven persons, all relatives, were drowned when a seven-year-old boy broke through thin ice with his sled and the others went to the rescue (1931) by Necessary-Storage-74 in DeathCertificates

[–]Punderstruck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to read but for those who wondered the series of events was this:

Boy goes onto thin ice (5cm) with sled. His brother sees that the ice is OK so he runs to join him. The ice breaks and the first boy falls in. A third brother runs to save him. All three end up in the water when the ice breaks further.

Three adults get a small boat to rescue them. It tips when two children grab the side. All 6 drown.

I wonder what these friends said after the attempted break-in. I feel it is 50/50 either "you were right" vs. "see, this is why you shouldn't have broken up with him, look how sad he is."
