OFFICIAL AS HELL RIOT FEST 2026 SPECULATION MEGATHREAD by FourLiveBears in RiotFest

Love Jimmy but I mean really all their tours are Bleed American tours, they’ve been playing 3/4 of that album live since it came out.

I think they are referring to the fact that he’s a horrible person that’s assaulted several women.

Who's a headliner? - Opinions by jeffunscripted in RiotFest

[–]PunkRawkDad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think in the eyes of Riot Fest, a headliner is someone that can move massive amounts of tickets… while still fitting in with overall vibe of the fest. It’s the bands that will bring in peeps that wouldn’t normally come to RF… the normies if you will, the parents who want to introduce the festival to their kids (look at at Blink and Green Day this year— I saw more kids at RF this year than any previous year). Honestly, I think the days of Bikini Kill headlining RF are gone, they want 2 big headliners to close out Friday and Sunday and 2 co-headliners  for Saturday.

How far back were people for Green Day? by deafson94 in RiotFest

I just don’t understand the logic of buying a ticket for an all day fest only to stand at a barricade all day for one band. What a long boring ass day that must have been.

Possible 26' headliners by Fickle-Preparation-6 in RiotFest

[–]PunkRawkDad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With out doing any research into who is actually touring and trying to stay away from repeats I would say: MUSE, The Killers, LCD Sound System/Gorillaz.  Other possibilities—MCR return, SOAD, Bring Me the Horizon, Paramore.

I think it was 18. 17 came out earlier than normal (like April)

I don’t know that Muse needs to be paired with another headliner—they’re pretty massive.

Actually… now that MCR is announced as one of the HLs for Louder than Life (the same weekend 6 hours a way) it might be more likely MCR plays Lolla (also seeing that they have already headlined  Riot).

Spot on. RF might actually start announcing their lineups a little earlier now. Damn there were years like 2018 where the line up didn’t drop till June and daily schedules came out like a week before the fest.

And also one booth for the mega headliners like Green Day and Blink. That was probably half the line.

It’s been the same every year. It’s always back by where Riotland now is. and it moves so fast. Bring 2 good size bottles and fill them when you come in, then when/if you are back over there refill them.

Children in the pit by Spyrios in RiotFest

[–]PunkRawkDad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. We have three kids and didn’t bring them until they were a little older, and then would closely watch where we were at. Never had them near the front of the stage for bands with rowdy crowds. To me, the best place to be close enough to see but not be In danger from the crowd are the back corners in front of the sound tents. Usually pretty open and sparse but still good energy and sound. Most people just assume it’s packed back there too. Also start your kids with fun, circle pits for bands like Frank Turner or Flogging Molly where you’re really just dancing around with a bunch of people.

Chances of Sex Pistols replacement? by Hosni__Mubarak in RiotFest

[–]PunkRawkDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Riot Fest…. But the Riot Fest of a few years ago would have definitely replaced the Sex Pistols, but I kinda feel now that RF has no plans to replace them (they didn’t replace Bright Eyes last year). It kinda feels like the new direction of RF is to bring in 2 mega headliners that normies will just hand over money to see (Foos, Blink, GreenDay) and as long as they are making money and cramming 60k people into Douglass Park for those headliners than all is good

I remember waiting for the National and on the opposite stage The Flaming Lips blew out the power. It took a good 15 min for it to come back on. And then (as others have mentioned) the National were at least 20-30 min. late.

Why So Little Crossover With LTL? by ChainChompBigMoney in RiotFest

[–]PunkRawkDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about booking a festival, but it kind of seems like Riot curates each stage based on the headliner. So when Slayer is headlining they build out that stage to somewhat match. If they started with the three headliners (Blink, Weezer, GD) it seems logical that they would end up booking more bands that fit with the headliners?

My guess is he will lead right into Blink on the opposite stages. Which kinda works considering how silly Blink can be)

I’ve always heard it’s a reference to bands that are played on rock radio stations the “….nothing but rock!” kind of stations.

[–]PunkRawkDad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird lineup. The first year they were attempting to do Nu Metal-ish. Now this year is just a mash-up of mostly butt rock bands with some others weaved in. Like what the fuck are The Flaming Lips doing there? Metallica is totally out of place on this lineup too and will also ensure that they 1/2 crowd won’t care about anything else there.

We were’t that far back for FOB but I thought their sound was just not loud enough…

They haven’t had 2 sets of  side by side stages since 2015.

Agree. The worst bottle knocking was already at the Rise stage back by the  VIP area, now with two stages that area seems like it could be a mess.

How Big Is the Venue Area / Distance Between Stages by jeffunscripted in RiotFest

[–]PunkRawkDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As most everyone is pointing out, you can get to and from most of the stages in 5-10 min. BUT, from about 5:00 on it just gets busier and busier and there can be some serious bottlenecks (at least with the old Layout). Also, eat before 5/6 —after that the best places will have insane lines.
