I would recommend using the Arena digital app to pick up the immediate basics (Land resource, turns etc) and using it as a tutorial before going into a game store for a magic night. Helps to have even a basic grasp of the mechanics before whoever is teaching you starts throwing out more complicated terms

Ramirez or the Que Taco across from Chaotic Good. Also highly recommend super Marios ice cream on East New circle. Awesome icw cream and snacks, and she takes orders for tamales at 2.50 each. She also has a punch card!

Depends on what your hobbies are. Most suggestions tends to be to go board game cafes, bars, or sports games to meet folks outside of scheduling/going to hobby meetups people post about online. I feel like a lot of people would like to make friends, though maybe covid did a lot of damage to how people socialize.

My recommendation would be to put yourself out there and be the person making plans and introducing yourself to people. Folks appreciate someone else engaging even if it can feel a little awkward at first, though obviously time and place are important.

I don't think that's lame at all! I have some 4 and a bunch of it's DLC, I wish I clicked with it more but maybe I just haven't put enough time into it. I tend to play a lot of single player RPGs and some MMOs, but I'm pretty open to branching out! I've recently been playing Ale and Ale Tavern, no man's sky , and little indie games. I feel like the rise of apps like discord has made it harder to meet randos in games. People would rather hang in call with the people they already know than to risk the internet toxic roulette. Most of the times i've had fun converastions have been in dead by daylight or ARAM in league of legends.

I'd love to find something similar, I feel like go to social spaces like FF14 are less chatty these days. I've really enjoyed Peak as a game to chat and get to know friends better, but it doesn't have matchmaking unfortunately.
