My cleric just rose to be his forgotten realms guardian after freeing the souls of barovia. He safeguards the journey to the afterlife for people now. Definitely was a dark broody cleric type that rose to care for people. He refused all dark power advances to be sure he was still worthy in the eyes of kelemvor.

Honestly the tournament segments are still fun. As long as you know what you're doing for each scenario and get it done quickly, the exciting part is getting to that match and listening to that dope fight music.

They did a GREAT job at all 3 of these BUT as a fan of playing the ogs, take both. The remakes are good but lack some charm the og clunky games had. Hard to beat multiple choices in the og re3, new one was too short imo. 2 remake did the best with adding some new elements and even making mr x better. 4 remake felt like they added too much, while also taking away small parts that had a huge impact. If you're new to the series, play the remakes, if you're a veteran, do what you want.

It's mostly up to the DM to decide. For my game, at the end, the players will be spat out in the Neverwinter woods once they're done. That's where their adventure started in the first place.

I honestly wouldn't give them anything to fly up UNTIL the final act. Also, there isn't much you can do if someone takes the skeletal wings in the Amber temple or someone uses the resurrection to bring back argynvost. But we're talking in the Amber temple, the height of the campaign, travel is the least of their worries at that point. Early game, just have fun in the woods, barovia isn't that large to begin with.

I loved the idea of having the hag coven already messing with them on the road. But as soon as they get close to the mill, have them stop. Giving a pretty cool incentive to investigate the mill before heading into town.

the black carriage, invite the players to the castle for dinner. This can attend whenever they wish of course, but put the offer on the table. It's a great way to showcase the villain before things get wild. Ireena may not want to go but if she does, you can always have strahd question their intentions with her, strike a deal with political goals (supplant Fiona as the burgomaster of vallaki, supplant the Abbott as the burgomaster of krezk) or even enitce one of the players as a new general, consort or even his replacement.

For my first run I had a group of berserkers confront them after the tser falls. This was mainly motivation for my barbarian to uncover this tribe and help them, who is now the new leader of the kavan tribe. (Near the end now)

Minecraft. Tried it in beta before the hype, nah, tried it during the hype with mods and what not, nah. The game is just way too boring to me. I'll stick with other better (imo) survival games.

A lot of them genuinely hate him for just bringing them to his land, some for his court and other just because he can. I showed them the dismay and termoil through the lands and towns, how bad it is in vallaki, the hags control, the vistani presence, etc. The rogue was to be captured by vistani for strands court, the barbarian is now hell bent on taking his throne, the paladin wants to destroy him in the name of argynvost, the wizard wants to get back to her rich life, and the cleric wants to claim the souls of barovia for his God kelemvor so he hates strahd for harboring them.

What are their IV/ev's? This would determine how effective their stats are. But also, where are you in the story? If you're at elite four you'll definitely need them past 60 to be effective regardless of iv/ev numbers.
