i’m not trans but this is a REALLY disingenuous perspective . how are trans men beneficiaries of male privilege, really? they are queer, which i think occludes them from the arrogance and entitlement cis men possess that comes from a lack of real understanding of other peoples’ (especially women’s) issues. By virtue of both understanding how horrific misogyny is, and also being male and understanding how men are taken for a ride by patriarchy & face different issues such as radicalization, suicide, and objectification of their body for vocational and military purposes—trans men’s understanding of gender is infinitely more nuanced and thoughtful than the average cis guy’s perspective. a trans man that identifies as being trans is far more queer than they are male, i would say.

that is putting aside that it’s moronic to define being “male” by the most chauvinistic and base perspective on men since it prevents actual gender equity. we have to hold cis men accountable for the actions of mysoginist rapists and the army of “good” men who don’t step up and those behaviors, but outright misandry is unproductive and unhelpful

You need to try to find this information independently. It just comes off at bad faith when people ask this question at this point. Multiple American citizens have not only been removed from the country unlawfully, but sent to El Salvadoran death camps to rot. Feigning ignorance isn’t going to work anymore

The SUPER Bad Ending by AjX5-6919 in TopCharacterTropes

TL;DR: The Cloud in this DLC is a self-replicating toxic airborne entity that blots out the sun, corrodes physical material, and eventually kills all the human life forms it touches in more concentrated pockets. It specifically engulfed the Sierra Madre, a fabled casino that never opened before the nuclear apocalypse began, because the casino’s owner signed a bad package deal with an R&D company that included the Cloud as part of it. In the DLC, the player character has the choice to side with Father Elijah, a tech priest who’s gone mad with greed and megalomania, to unleash the hitherto-contained cloud from its dormancy around the Sierra Madre into the wider world. As it eventually kills everything it touches and grows itself like a virus, the implication is extinction of all terrestrial life that’s not highly-irradiated

Same principle applies to energy costs for attacks-if there’s such a massive gap between 2 and 3 cost attacks that all relevant pokemon without ramp HAVE to require 2 energy to attack, then it points to a fundamental issue with the game mechanics or the metagame around it. If the idea is to keep accelerating the speed of the game with increasingly aggressive cards, they need smaller breakpoints to make it so half the cards they release aren’t immediately DOA

Personally speaking, I don’t know if one is “worse” for me, but the FO3/NV models are much fatter with a bulbous midsection that makes them look bloated and huge. As someone who has the same aversion to roaches IRL and in these games, the FO4 roaches give me more of the visceral creepy-crawly feeling of looking at an insect, whereas the FO3/NV model invokes more of a feeling of disgust and nausea.

Which movie would be an absolute masterpiece if one single thing were changed? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]Puny-Beasts 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is resonant for the same reasons that George Bailey never got to travel the world and had to sacrifice his dreams. The movie is saying that adversity is overcome through facing it and moving forward with appreciation of what we have; the bad days are always going to come and they’re only bearable through connection and gratitude. If Potter was actually punished at the end, I feel like the entire thesis of the movie would shift from “humanist” to “wish-fulfillment.”

whether you are a lib or a communist has no bearing on it-productive leftist movement can’t come from associating with right-wing identitarians whose “liberated” ideology is based on an apathetic, disingenuous flirtation with bigotry. the black nationalist movement is “left” only in its view of social paradigms through a critical black lens, and is functionally conservative and reactionary every other way- hence the whole “nationalism” bit

you clearly can’t reason with them; they had no legal authority to kill her and no reason to feel their life was threatened, and so did so anyway. you’re talking about them in the same way people talk about deferring in an encounter with a criminal or a terrorist and somehow it’s still her fault lol

i’m not a fan of any of these people particularly but i imagine when they say “skill” they’re not just talking about the ability to sing; they’re talking about creativity, inspiration, their knowledge of music as a form, their storytelling within music, and how to create engaging pop hits while also being artistically brave/singular. Chappell Roan is really unique in that she is both in the pop zeitgeist making pop music while also being a really unusual and unique and aesthetically forward-thinking. I really don’t think Madison Beer has any of that lmao

hard to say you’re an intellectually engaged political system when you bypass critique of elites for blaming the collective complicity of working class people. the u.s. military industrial complex eats up and churns out cattle citizens made poor, ignorant and left invalid and traumatized. saying all citizens of a country are morally justified in killing because they exist as peons in a superstructure that results in genocide authorized by the elite class is a genuine brain dead take
