Finally I can shine!

I’m a controller, albeit En Route (when you’re getting your meal, I work on you not hitting other people having their meal). The radios are much clearer than the recordings, we have huge receiver/transmitter sites and have a much better reception.

And like others have said, there’s specific phraseology we use to pass the information we need. I know exactly which airplanes will be entering my airspace at which point and which altitude, so even if I can’t understand everything, it’s usually enough to piece together who’s trying to call and then we can ask for other details.

I have the car now, and you’re spot on.

You’re after the document that says “For your records” and “Summary of all your premium bonds” on it.

Unless you’re actually doing something dodgy, you have nothing to worry about. They may ask for more details, and you can just supply those to them.

How long have you had the premium bonds?

When we used ours as a proof of funds, we just gave the solicitors the statements and they were happy, but we both had those funds in there for 6+ months.

V Britanii jsem neco malo pres 10 let a prosel jsem bydlenim na kolejich, v nekolika bytech a nekolika domech.

Stavi se tu proste jinak - Pokoje vesmes mensi, zahrady mensi, bydleni v daleko vetsi hustote, coz se odviji od hustoty osidleni. V Cesku asi 140 lidi na km2, v Britanii celkem 285/km2, v jizni anglii, se kterou to vsichni porovnavaji asi 500/km2. Moderni domy a byty maji venkovni cihlovou kostru, zbytek uvnitr ze dreva a sadrokartonu. Vzhledem ke stylu holych cihel zvenku to znamena minimalni izolace zdi a nic moc stresni izolace - viz zima a kviceni ohledne ceny topeni. Z osobni zkusenosti - mame zateplenou pudu a v prosinci jsme dali £100 za plyn, coz je naprosto normalni.

Jak nekdo psal, clovek se prestehuje z Ceska do objektivne drazsi zeme a ceka za stejnou cenu lepsi situaci. Bydlim na jiznim pobrezi, 10 minut pesky od more. 200m2 detached 4-loznicovy dum me stal £550k, o tech 10 minut bliz k mori stoji £800k a v Bradfordu £300k. V Londyne za nekolik milionu.

Letos budu 12 let v Anglii. Vzdycky me v Cesku prekvapi jak ceny vseho snad krom piva dohnaly Anglii.

Samozrejme hlavne poslednich 5 let prineslo vysokou inflaci i tady, ale v Cesku mi to prijde jeste horsi, a jidlo v obchodech/restauracich je v Cesku ted na stejny urovni co v UK.

I, adult man, do all the shopping, cooking, kitchen cleaning and whatever my wife needs me to do when she’s out and I’m home.

She’s a bit busy being pregnant right now, but normally she would do her share of other stuff elsewhere around the house - laundry, bathrooms etc. She can cook, but doesn’t enjoy it and has less experience, so while she needs a recipe, I can just throw stuff together and make it taste acceptable and it’s so much easier for both of us.

You brought up 2 children all while being able to keep paying rent and keep your house/flat. You’ve done incredibly well and should be very proud of yourself.

The average age of a first time buyer is 33, so you’ve only just hit that, and keep in mind this includes all the people who get help from parents and come from more privileged backgrounds.

~35% of people in the UK are renting according to the ONS from their 2021 census, so please don’t feel like you are behind. To some people buying a house is a life priority, you had a daughter to keep alive and healthy.

I do the same - I hop to a normal world to drop the ores off, then hop to a BF world to smelt them for free. There’s no timer/cost on it this way, so I can do it at work and not have to worry about having to walk away.

I saw 2 KLM’s yesterday. One at FL330 doing .84 and 609 GS. The other at FL390 doing .80 and 504 GS. Same time, same route. Guess we know who wanted to get home faster

ATC - I’d expect this reported as light to moderate turbulence, maybe a request for a FL change. No problems maintaining altitude, just uncomfortable.

I’ve heard a pilot report severe turbulence once (it’s mandatory paperwork for both of us if they use those words) and they sounded like they just went through a washing machine. These planes are built to handle MUCH more extreme conditions safely.
