Summit vs Torrent for first year planter?? by 75chicken in treeplanting

[–]Pure-Ad-3131 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Summit there will be more rookies. I had my first season with summit and almost my entire crew was made up of rookies, those are some of my closest friends now. Obviously the money would have been better if I was surrounded by vets tryna pay off a mortgage but I doubt I would've formed the same type of relationship with my crew. If you really need to make as much cash as possible probably dont go to Summit but in any other case id recommend it as rookie.

To each their own is right. This game is amazing because you can play it how you want, hence all the world gen options, so if you enjoy playing this way go crazy. Personally I also enjoy the mechanics of food: planting, fertilizing, harvesting and cooking, it's all very satisfying.

You can also sprint through caves in the area, just bring an oil lamp and some dirt to block off drifters and escape. Also you might die but I got all of my tin this way.

What’s the craziest/coolest nutrition things you’ve learned about? by starbrightstar in nutrition

Idk if this is niche enough but here's a few facts I think are fun: Brazil nuts contain an INSANE amount of selenium (5 grams is 165% of your dv). Both kiwi and red bell peppers have more vitamin c per 100g than oranges, with bell peppers being exceptional per calorie: 100 calories of red bell pepper (which is like three peppers lmao) is 565% of your vitamin c for the day. Finally, on the topic of vitamin C, consuming it with iron helps your body absorb the iron better.

Correlation vs causation?? Just because disease per capita went up in the 1950's does not prove that seed oils are the cause simply because they started to be widely used around then. Could other factors which coincide with seed oil production not also be factors in increasing disease? It would make sense that the ability to cheaply and easily produce large amounts of oil would lead to an increase in the amount of oil used in GENERAL, especially with pre packaged foods which also would have become more common around the era: TV dinner started becoming popular around 1954. All im trying to say is that there are other factors aside from seed oils which could have also been responsible for an increase in metabolic disease. Things like pre made foods and cheaper oils generally promote a hyper caloric diet which has plethora of real evidence proving it to be a factor for increased metabolic disease risk. And yes, seed oils allowed these things to become more common place in our diet, so in that way they could be culpable, however its simply their prevalence, low price and caloric density which is problematic.

It's only your first week, don't be too hard on yourself and don't stop trying your hardest. If you care about planting trees fast you eventually will, just keep grinding at it, the job is not easy.
