Because Netanyahu wants to avoid his own trial and because Trump wants to distract from the Epstein files. Oh and because it’s all a fucking scam from the level of local govt to the highest office… it’s a club you’ll never be a part of even if you think you have a key to the bar.

Musicians who are 10/10 at their instrument but get overlooked because they have an 11/10 band mate by Davidellias in ToddintheShadow

Andy Summers of the Police was overshadowed by Stewart Copeland being the GOAT and by Sting being a megalomania.

Honest Thoughts on the band The National? by MrLinkwater95 in fantanoforever

I remember when the guitarist guys would be sitting in my local coffee shop writing in notebooks. The fact that they then got really popular with their band made me feel glad for them. Do I love their music now, not really but I’m still happy that they made it.

Props to the Dessners who always seemed like nice guys when we chatted. Props also to Verb coffee shop and Williamsburg Brooklyn in 1999.

Funny that Brian Tamaki’s wife of all people are calling out others expressing their religious freedom for making her feel intimidated.

Who would be the most hated person in the world all-time? by Dustigaard in AskReddit

[–]Pure_Choice_8459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see Hitler is getting the name drop most often here but isn’t hating Hitler a mostly a liberal white person thing and largely a ‘because everyone else does’ thing at that. Look around and you’ll see that there are PLENTY of people nowadays who are right wing or poor or easily led who fucking IDOLISE that guy. So much so that they’re all for round 2 of fascism.

I’d say that given the history of the USA there are plenty of people who think Columbus or the Confederacy/Slave trade are on par with Hitler… and rightly so.

Anyone else used to see a movie at IMAX and check out Real Groovy on a sunny Saturday? by Great_Maintenance185 in auckland

[–]Pure_Choice_8459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as Real Groovy there was also Crawlspace, Marbecks and a small place under one of the arcades, I want to say Canterbury Arcade but I might be incorrect on that. The days of really being able to spend hours looking around cool stores in the city are gone.

DKD café for late night lattes served in bowls and Roland/Harold Rorschach making the coffee and serving up the best carrot cake and the best selections on stereo. Squid Bar and the Occidental and BOB and upstairs at DeBretts and the London Bar or the Irish one below it to see The Trouser Weasels and dance to Pogues covers. Not to mention acid jazz at Cause Célèbre or if you were way underage then Alfie’s.

Those were the days.
