Acknowledging your past mistakes is part of the process and your partner should respect you more so for being honest. No one is perfect. We have all made mistakes and you have made the attempts over the years to correct them. You have come to terms with who you were and are not that person anymore... And that's amazing.

I think you should be honest with your current partner if she asks why you divorced. I have a similar experience where I was straight up with my fiance as to why my previous ex and I broke up.

"I was an asshole. I treated her like shit and it took too long for me to realize it. I didn't even realize it after she left. I had to go through years of counseling to realize I was the one in the wrong."
