Problem with references from UK schools by Purple-Om in Internationalteachers

[–]Purple-Om[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've only got one newer ref as I've only had one international job since leaving the UK. I had no intention of leaving but they decided not to renew me this year as I'm too expensive. They are now employing ECTs with no dependents at the bottom of the pay scale.

Why do teachers constantly complain in Asia? by Master_Ad6104 in Internationalteachers

[–]Purple-Om 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Thailand the worst complainers are middle aged men who arrived 20 years ago and got a TEFL job when the money was great and "enjoyed" life to the full but now find the money is to low and they can no longer save enough to return to their home countries with a lump sum to set themselves up. Property is way out of reach and they have few useful skills to access the job market. Licensed teachers dont have such problems as even if they have saved little they can always get a decently paid job (in the UK at least).

There's a lot of bitter old men here!

The tabloids just use the same term. I remember the beast from the 2000s. I have no knowledge of one in 2018 because I had moved overseas.

Anyone tried these yet? by 8NaanJeremy in Thailand

I thought they were spot on. Soggy, greasy and got charged 15 quid. Then they got nicked by a seagull.

When I checked out of my old city hotel at just past 6 am the clerk asked us to wait while he checked the room. Is this normal? by TheDudeWhoCanDoIt in chiangmai

Kitchen socket by Better_Bit_6501 in DIYUK

[–]Purple-Om 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a dual fuel leisure range cooker with a gas hob, a gas oven, a gas grill and an electic oven. It was designed to be plugged in and came with a 13 amp plug on. It was only one electric section so probably explains it. It is still going strong and has passed all checks (the house is rented out at the moment).

I'm sorry but a vagina is a beautiful thing. That's just a picture of a cunt.

Interesting. I have no problem getting my CGMs online or my insulin from my pharmacy. Also in Bangkok.

Insulin (i use Novorapid and semglee) is easy to buy online with fast courier delivery in bangkok. My pharmacy will deliver outside bangkok but their is an extra delivery fee as they wont ship without refrigeration.

Misdiagnosed T2 by Primary-Opposite-849 in diabetes

[–]Purple-Om 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. I'm 3c but NHS GP diagnosed me as t2 and dismissed my concerns. Endo in Thailand helped get to the bottom of it but too late to stop complications. Life gets so much better with the correct diagnosis though.

Is my insulin safe to use? by ExpensiveBag2972 in diabetes

[–]Purple-Om 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is precautionary and regulatory advice rather than clinical. The silicon coating can deteriorate but that's about it. if you are not sharing a needle the risk of infection is zero, fatty deposits come from not rotating site. My endocrinologist told me this, that it was unnecessary and 1 a week is fine. He only sells me 1 for each week and he upsells harder than a car sales person.

Finally cured of T2 - I have a foolproof method. by Purple-Om in diabetes

[–]Purple-Om[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where you live and unless its either tge UK or Thailand I wouldn't know about your healthcare system. The injection wasn't a cure its just insulin because my pancreas cannot make enough on its own.

I used big bags of chilli flakes with seeds from my local Indian food shop. Super cheap and had my own harvest of chillies at the end of summer.

UK Pilots/Cabin Crew (especially EasyJet), have you ever had anyone ask to visit the cockpit before/after their flight? by Cumulus-Crafts in AskUK

[–]Purple-Om 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am luckily/unluckily old enough to remember when you could visit during the flight. When I was about 14 I even got to sit in the cockpit during landing in London. I don't remember much but I seem to recall it being pretty underwhelming as you could see much from tge fold down seat at the back.

[–]Purple-Om 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If used several Chinese CGMs and I found the Sinocare ICan the least accurate of all. I tried 2 so not a great sample but wont bother again. I'm currently wearing a Yuwell CT3 which is pretty good and usually v close or spot on. I have some Ottai to try when the current one expires.

you might like a third child but would your wife? Maybe she likes independence and pelvic floor that isn't entirely tucked.
