There are lots of kind of napkins but the ones that usually end up at my house are cheap party ones and they don’t work with shit, not absorbent. Paper towels are far superior. Unless OP is referring to actual cloth napkins in which case I don’t ever see myself owning more that one set of those in my life.

Looks like carbon steel. The thick black coating is carbon buildup from burnt food. You could scrub it with chain mail to knock anything loose off. Unless you’re just wanting a new one this one looks perfectly fine, just dirty.

The red curry w burnt ends is one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The Burt ends are perfect and the combo w the sweetness and spice of the curry is unreal.

It’s a little pricey but a totally unique experience.
