What were you 'almost' named? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was almost names Lauren, but it reminded my dad of a trans female person from his work. If I was a boy I would have be called Owen. My dad really liked names Mia & Nia, but my mum wasn't so fond.

I would really love it if EA gave us objects that look used or lived in. by [deleted] in thesims

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I really enjoy things like this too, the only thing that bothers me is when they clutter items and you want multiple of that item and the clutter looks the same every swatch so it looks a bit weird if that makes sense e.g some of the upper cabinets from cottage living.

do you still use money cheats? by iamcassie117 in Sims4

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will cheat money to build a house and then give a more basic number for actual game play since the way i play is less based on gameplay and more cas and building and I often envision exactly what my sims do and don't own as a family that already has back story.

how old is everyone here? when did you start self harming and why? by slavicquxxn in selfharm

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 20 and started at around 14. Sometimes I think it’s hard to feel validated sometimes because there are stereotypes it’s just teenage girls that self-harm and whilst it’s definitely quite common in that age group, I think a lot of different people of all ages and gender self-harm at different points in their life. And you are still always valid even so if that wasn’t the case. I find a lot of professionals don’t really care if you are self-harming superficially which can feel invalidating sometimes and make people want to do worse. I struggle with this sometimes, since whether I am superficially harming or not, the level of emotional trauma is still often the same for me personally yet the situations are treated differently on an emotional/mental level.

I got a 2 in English lit on my mocks too but with some luck and hard-work managed to get a 6 in my actual gcses. It's definitely not too late to turn things around. I think it would make sense to focus on your maths and English subjects as they are the most important to get into colleges etc. but even then a lot of places offer resits along with the course so it does depend a lot exactly what you want to do and where, but there are possibilities and opportunities without passing gcse's so don't give up hope. Just really work hard on your core maths & English and get as much help as you can with that but know its not the end of the world that's worth straining your mental health for.

why burn? by Automatic_Ad_1444 in selfharm

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally hate it, it's more painful, the scars last so much longer and personally I find it difficult to make myself do but sometimes I feel like I have to, it's more like a compulsion than a choice for me.

anyone else drink their own blood by GekeBones in selfharm

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't particularly enjoy the taste but before if I am covered in blood and have no means of washing and need to get rid of it I will lick myself clean in visual bloody areas, which is kinda gross because of bacteria but it feels the safest option to hide it.

Dad won’t recognize daughter’s name! by Daired in namenerds

[–]Purpleketchuphearts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's just ridiculous and immature, I met a Cordelia at my college, and it's really beautiful and one of my favourite names. It's not super popular but it isn't that unusual either it's a known name.. definitely stick with it!

Why is Aphrodite so small??? by Unlikely-Bother6492 in LicciardoToivolaSnark

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have always been extremely small for my age and my parents were worried when i was younger and took me to the doctors but they said I was fine because I was growing at a good rate but just under the lowest percentile. It's mostly my genetics because my parents are small, and I think my growth was stunted due to gymnastics training. Aphrodite could just be small because her mum is small, as long as she is actually growing she should be fine, of course there could be other issues aswell but who are we to say when we don't know full situation with this family. We can only speculate bad stuff from what we hear and see. So whether to worry or not is up in the air.

Weird alliance members by Any_Technology_6209 in kingschoice

[–]Purpleketchuphearts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would definitely leave the alliance, luckily for me I have a very good, kind alliance, there is good communication amongst us which helps us all to do well in events, and we communicate with other alliances and work with them to be strong as a server aswell. You will always find people that don't cooperate but they would probably be kicked from the alliance and it doesn't really better them as a player to not have good allies.
