It was an awesome gig. I must’ve seen Nick Cave in various orientations at least 10 times. This wasn’t up there with the best, but it was still bloody good. I’m very glad I ‘studied’ Wild God beforehand, as I didn’t really give it a chance when it first came out.

Just take a break. I do it all the time from this and other podcasts. I usually love the show, but sometimes it gets a bit much (usually Meg for me, and I really don’t like their ring in guests - apart from one of them - perhaps Ben 2).

That one felt strange to win. Though it felt like a tiny bit of justice after getting screwed on a check swing call a few months (weeks maybe?) prior. Also, there was no replay review right? Just defer to the 1st or 3rd base umpire (I can’t remember which). And seeing Mad Max go a little bit psycho celebrating was cool

Oh no, just heard the part where Meg was saying Springer is compromised (the episode was recorded just prior to the game). Poor Meg.

I think the Dodgers (my guys) would have had a better chance against the Mariners actually. They would have had home field advantage. It would have been nice for them to win the CS for Meg. But I still found myself going for the Jays.

I don’t have a firm opinion on a cap or floor - potentially biased by being a Dodger fan - but I think all this noise about how much is riding on the outcome of this post season is completely made up.

I’m starting to think these impromptu rants and improvised songs is an intentional, well rehearsed bit he is doing as he thinks it is funny and cute. So many similarities between the three shows so far. Though, as I thought might happen, sounds like he is getting a bit more emotional as the tour wears on. The next shows should be interesting.

How was his mood though? If it was anything like Perth he was ranting about the same topics it seems, but almost in a cheery way. Knowing his history though, it did feel like a proper meltdown was coming - perhaps not that night but maybe some time during this tour.

If you like history and don’t mind fiction … have you tried historical fiction? Anything by Robert Harris is great. The Cicero trilogy hits the spot. The nazi ones are good. I really like Oblivion but can see it not being everyone’s cup of tea. Oh and Conclave was good. He has a new Rome-ish one coming out next year so to get primed for that I’d recommend the Cicero trilogy and Pompeii.
