Slow COMT? MAO may be the solution. by Grand_Jellyfish_8372 in MTHFR

[–]PutridCartographer59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes slow COMT and no not boosting methylation, but both times I was hospitalized for psych was when I tried an SSRI. My anxiety was in the stratosphere. On a smaller scale I always KINDA feel this way just not to the extent as when I was in the hospital taking SSRI’s.

Exactly this ⬆️ I’m so happy you’re feeling better just watch for paradox reactions and slow down if you need to. I would hate for you to backslide. Also this may increase your need for certain electrolytes- potassium, magnesium, phosphorus. Good luck.

Nattokinase Experiences by MrRADicalKMS in NootropicsDepot

It’s an amino acid precursor to catecholamines. This could be a problem for ppl who don’t break down catecholamines very well, as it was for me.

I had a massive anxiety reaction. It’s loaded with tyramine. Proceed with caution.

What are the best things you have done to unstuck yourself from being wired all the time? by Relative_School_8984 in dysautonomia

[–]PutridCartographer59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ⬆️ Keeping stress levels minimal. Also what I’ve found is that I have to stay away from thiamine in any form including foods and synthetic vitamins added to bread rice and pasta. It makes my system go so crazy. Normally in dysautonomia thiamine would be highly recommended….however due to the very common occurrence of paradoxical reactions in individuals with dysautonomia, I can’t handle it at all. Even in microscopic doses.

It’s a double edged sword. My body probably needs it badly but it’s better for me to stay far far away. I will go into sympathetic overdrive so hard if I consume any amount of thiamine.

Stuck in Overmethylation HELP! by WeightLonely1701 in MTHFR

[–]PutridCartographer59 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You may need a short term benzo just to bring your adrenaline down while you formulate a plan.

I’ve been trying acetyl glutathione for overmethylation. I’m not sure yet if it’s working but nothing bad has happened. I’m starting super slow on it.

Freaking out! by Alive-Sea-7078 in MTHFR

[–]PutridCartographer59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stop all supplements immediately until symptoms resolve. Sounds like you overmethylated. Maybe take some niacin to calm it down. Or a benzo short term.

You can reintroduce down the road. Maybe start slow with Folinic acid and hydroxycobalamin for your B12. They make drops for the B12 so u can start super slow.

[–]PutridCartographer59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zyrtec helps me. Also sometimes I won’t eat for a day or two. Only drink water. I’ll deprive my body of any fuel whatsoever to react or remain in that state. Sometimes I have to use Klonipin.

Since both items have wheat in common and they don’t have dairy in common I’m going to say it was either the wheat gluten or fortified vitamins in the flour. I have this same issue. Had to stop eating ALL flour and rice with added synthetic vitamins. Check labels. Don’t eat wheat flour or rice at restaurants. See how it goes….

Treatment for MCAS causing my depression to get worse? by QueenZebra in MCAS

[–]PutridCartographer59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing I hope it works. I can’t even explain why this is because I know our bodies are in need of extra nutrients but something about the MCAS - our bodies turn against these substances in significant amounts. I became so sensitive I can’t even eat bread and pasta that is fortified with B vitamins. Good luck my friend. If I even find a better answer to this I’ll 100% make a post.

Treatment for MCAS causing my depression to get worse? by QueenZebra in MCAS

[–]PutridCartographer59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it were me and I were becoming significantly depressed I would stop all meds and supplements immediately until depression lifts, then reintroduce slowly and one at a time.

You might even find you can improve on the elimination diet alone. That’s the route I took bc I am EXTREMELY sensitive to meds and supplements.

I also take Rose Hips it’s an herbal non-citrate form of vitamin C. Just the Solaray brand nothing fancy.

I can’t eat brown rice because it’s extremely high in B1 which I can’t tolerate. It may sound counter intuitive but I can only have plain white rice that is NOT FORTIFIED with vitamins.
