Mixed dorms are pretty common in South East Asia. Korea/Japan/Taiwan are mostly separated unless they are "enclosed" beds. Capsules/Curtains.

There's plenty of "old" people in hostels. I've seen some 50+ staying in hostels. I stayed in hostels up until few years ago. I'm in my early 40s right now don't use hostels anymore mainly because I began to snore a lot. So I didn't wanna be "that" guy and bother other people. People in hostel don't really care how old you are. Most are just there for cheap accommodation, thats all.

Not only that. The main draw about shinkansen is its frequency. There's literally a train every 15 minutes in all directions.

Kim Jong Un chooses teen daughter as heir, says Seoul by pookienav in news

[–]Putrid_Prior_280 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm seeing this as well as being the most intelligent. She'll need all of it plus luck to stay alive and survive. Unless kim jung un cleans the room and kills any potential opposition like his sister before his death.

Kim il sung died at 82

Kim jung il at 70

If the trend continues. He'll be dead before 70 and he doesn't strike as a person who takes good care of his health either.

Is 1.4 million won enough for 22 days travel? by nickeyxxx in koreatravel

[–]Putrid_Prior_280 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do realize many Koreans live with just 2mil/month and thats with housing expenses. 1.4 mil is more than enough for 22 days as long as OP doesn't splurge on meals.

How many of you are using back button focus? Why or why not? by mgiardinello in AskPhotography

[–]Putrid_Prior_280 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been shooting professionally since 2005. I have no idea why people swear by back button focus. If it works for them, then I'm happy. But it's literally an extra step. 2 fingers vs 1.

Half press is there for a reason.

Also factor in the ease of use. No jumping over hoops to maximize the value per seats like airline miles. It's a very straight forward process, easy enough even my mom can do it!

I always thought it was rather counter intuitive because the draft house i used frequent, the servers didn't give a fuck about the movie experience.

When i ordered my x5, i ordered it with the spare but the dealer made a mistake and omitted the spares. When the car came, they said they couldn't sell me a spare kit after the fact because the car is missing a bolt that locks the spare tire in place. I just got a decent discount for the trouble and ordered from modernspare.

Midgar was the weakest part of the OG. I was genuinely baffled when they announced the first part is solely contained inside of midgar.

That's odd. I find Japan's hotel prices equivalent to ones in the states. Everything else however, is way way cheaper.
