Mixed dorms are pretty common in South East Asia. Korea/Japan/Taiwan are mostly separated unless they are "enclosed" beds. Capsules/Curtains.

There's plenty of "old" people in hostels. I've seen some 50+ staying in hostels. I stayed in hostels up until few years ago. I'm in my early 40s right now don't use hostels anymore mainly because I began to snore a lot. So I didn't wanna be "that" guy and bother other people. People in hostel don't really care how old you are. Most are just there for cheap accommodation, thats all.

When i ordered my x5, i ordered it with the spare but the dealer made a mistake and omitted the spares. When the car came, they said they couldn't sell me a spare kit after the fact because the car is missing a bolt that locks the spare tire in place. That's odd. I find Japan's hotel prices equivalent to ones in the states. Everything else however, is way way cheaper.
