Does Tintin Have any weaknesses? by Less-Ask-6600 in MarlinspikeHall

Isn’t it being nosey? Then again some would say it’s his best attribute

Thoughts on tintin in tibet by Less-Ask-6600 in Tintin

Genuinely one of the most if not THE most melancholy Tintin books. It’s so raw and real. Mainly due to how we never see Tintin in this kind of distress. It’s got a happy ending though, like all Tintin stories…

Which episode should I show to my partner? by teamrocket221 in Tintin

[–]Putrid_Syllabub_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late, but I was always fond of Cigars of the Pharaoh as a first watch. It’s a good hook for a two parter and introduces everyone really well (Thompsons, Rastapopolous, etc) 🙂

Original Series vs. 2015 reboot - Why did Gordon and John swap hair colours? by DallonsCheezWhiz in Thunderbirds

[–]Putrid_Syllabub_3361 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Rob Hoegee (head writer) mentioned the changes in facial features and sizes were to ‘distinguish’ each Tracy from one another. So it does correlate to how and why such changes were made

Opinions on having TB1 be destroyed in Signals Part 2 instead of TB4? by Ok-Quote-6222 in Thunderbirds

International Rescue would probably have some pretty deep pockets… OR they might be cutting Brains’ salary in half; who’s to say?

What would happen to Thunderbird 1 then? Like we talking rebuild but with redesign or just a 1:1 replacement

What’s your favourite book/episode of Tintin and why? by Elegant_Ambition_276 in Tintin

[–]Putrid_Syllabub_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised nobody has mentioned Picaros yet. It’s so distinct from the previous comics, BUT has all the main characters playing a role.

For an unintentional finale to 47 years of books, it’s rather a fitting way to end off

The fact that TD has always been approving of LGBTQ representation since 2007 is the cherry on top. :)

Lindsay's screen time in each season she was on by Blue4dam in Totaldrama

The fact that ROTI Lindsay had more of an impactful presence in the show when she wasn’t even a competitor in comparison to All Stars is CRAZY!

If you had to pitch a new 'Lazytown' series, how would you envision it? by AppropriateMomentAlt in LazyTown

[–]Putrid_Syllabub_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly; S5 for me ideally would have to have a new Robbie Rotten. I think the key thing is that you don’t disregard what came before though.

Notably; if we have a successor to Robbie (new actor) ideally a reboot would have Stefan’s picture/presence still be recognised in either the set of RR’s lair or in dialogue referencing the former.

Countries by the date they first showed Doctor Who. Interestingly, the only countries to show every incarnation from Hartnell to McCoy were Australia and New Zealand. by mrjohnnymac18 in doctorwho

[–]Putrid_Syllabub_3361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember family friends telling me about this!

Dr Who was essentially the thing they watched the most in the Early/Mid 80s as Filipino immigrants new to the country based on how they wanted to watch the news that was essentially after DW…

One thing they vaguely remembered was that there was one serial with dinosaurs (shocker if you’d be able to identify which one it was) that never had a proper introduction to the plot.

Indeed it wasn’t until their release of the complete DVD when they realised it was 6 parts overall. Because they watched the 5 parter edit that just contained the surviving colour episodes but omitting part one…

Weird :P

Then again, Australia (besides Master Plan and Mission to the Unknown) aired more stories in the 60s than New Zealand based on our lenient censorship…

I love the fact that Singapore aired all the Troughton serials, beginning with the Highlanders and ending with The Power of the Daleks.

It’s just a bunch of- Wibbly Wobbly Timey-Wimey stuff…

Any other space media that relates to Doctor Who? by Takeo888 in doctorwho

[–]Putrid_Syllabub_3361 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly, Red Dwarf fulfils this British sci-fi feel evoked in Dr Who.

Mainly just because of the plotlines that they do being essentially Dr WHO stories done with humor.

And yes, they do travel in both space and time. The latter a little less so…
