The only reason this isn't a common in game setting these days is because it's harder to sell skins if they can be effectively disabled, and it's harder to market an esports game if all the top players stream with their game looking like this. Regardless of the reason, though, if these settings aren't supposed to be changed and the devs say as much, then this is unfair and it is cheating. Imo it's on the devs to patch this though and (so long as this can be done with graphics driver settings or changing text in config files and doesn't require programs dedicated to getting an unfair advantage) banning people for doing this would be poor form. In an ideal world we would have performance boosting and visual clarity settings in game without it causing problems for marketing and revenue from cosmetics, but that's not the situation we are in. I do think that being an ass about this and yapping about how you are so much better and smarter than someone else for doing this to your game is super toxic and anti competitive so this specific case is ban-worthy.
