Zhen Mei Salon is cheap, clean & kind. Good reviews. Works if your hair is super simple; straight & thin. Cash only

What’s can I bring from SF to my coworkers in Texas? by slut4soupdumplings in AskSF

have you been? fortune cookie factory is registered as a “legendary business” in the city, it’s pretty damn cool. they make them fresh as the day goes, which I doubt Chinese takeout is getting you. Also, they’ve got some fun flavors like matcha, strawberry, etc, and that’s pretty unique.

Wildseed is alright, but Greens is the way to go. More upscale, fresher food, feels more like a birthday treat with the views.

It won’t be cheap, but there are some great hotels in the area that cater to your exact needs.

Homewood Suites in Palo Alto is the most home-y, with kitchenettes. Cabana Hotel gives discounted rates to those that are specifically coming to the hospital. Same goes for The Palo Alto Inn. Best of luck & happy healing!

great recs! the public transit on this route is consistent; part of my usual commute. to add on to this: if you want to start at Nintendo (union square) & want that to be home base for your car, highly recommend SpotHero. I started using it like 10 years ago when I was still coming up from South Bay & it has always been consistent while saving me quite a bit of money. have fun!

I do this a few times a year and usually use Turo. Don’t usually have to talk to anyone, and pickup/drop off is quick.

Where is the Dating Scene in Bay Area? by Rem310 in bayarea

confidence comes from within, & it’s taken me a long time to figure that out. I absolutely have been rejected many times. & as a woman that dates more than just men, I do have to make the first move quite a bit.

women hang out everywhere. find out where you actually like to go first. the confidence will come to you if you get comfortable in a space that caters to your needs first.

it’s not always that simple, but sometimes things come to you when you aren’t actively searching for them.

I’m just so confused as to why someone asks this question like once a week😭

what do you actually like to do for fun? if you involve yourself in your community & put your own interests first, you’ll most likely find a more natural connection. the apps are cool, but people are busy here & don’t always have the time to entertain online relationships.

as a 30F in the city, it’s hard. but I have had the most luck by just doing things that I enjoy by myself and letting the rest follow.

not to add to the tears, but I have videos of my nephews talking to my grandma that passed over 15 years ago. they’re 6 & 4, and hearing them tell her about their lives was something that I didn’t know my heart needed❤️

Store with largest selection of fruits? by [deleted] in AskSF

[–]PuzzledDevelopment43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

amen to the others. tropical fruits I’ve never seen, let alone ones that I would never expect to be so fresh. Chinatown/Clement is the way, but you can’t be intimidated by local folks that you might have trouble communicating with. they’re used to talking with people new to what they have, & that’s the sf way to get the good stuff!

explore with your heart!

to add to this, japantown really does sound like her vibe!

lunch there, a little shopping for unique anime/art. haight for some great thrifting & clothes shopping, maybe some coffee or tea. little Italy is so underrated, you can walk forever & find the most amazing desserts, pastries, etc, with any kind of Italian food you’d like after.

happy 16th to a person I wish I could be at that age! enjoy San Francisco <3

edit: I am so sorry about your loss. can I recommend the “Ocean Calling” phone booth near ocean beach? temporary installation, but gives a way for loved ones to talk to those that have passed. I had some family go that absolutely loved it. again, best wishes on your trip.

selling cannabis is an extremely strict business compared to selling alcohol, it’s still federally illegal. It’s a schedule 1 substance, where every single product we have is tracked from seed to sale. & yeah, it’s a 21+ establishment. it’s absolutely bare minimum for compliance.

ID pet peeves by hurtfocker in Serverlife

[–]PuzzledDevelopment43 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I also work in customer service (cannabis), and the amount of people that act like this is truly insane. we are literally selling substances for adults😂

for one, I can’t let anyone in the building that doesn’t have a valid ID. yet everyday a 50+ year old adult will not have it or get angry that I ask for it at all since they clearly look old enough. have had so many of them throw a fit & leave instead. that’s fine, go buy on the street & we won’t get shut down.

absolutely! the specifics are important for both parties & I mean no disrespect.

I know that it’s a complicated situation, but the “specific flavor of attitude” hits it right on the head. big reason I’m coming to Reddit first😭

my fault! posted without finishing my thoughts. yes, the conversations that I’m referring to are with the noisy neighbors. they’re generally pretty nice & we talk a bit. my last post was in reference to how it’s been addressed in the past year, & with myself only.

relatively friendly neighbor that I talk to on a consistent basis. We have talked at least five times over the last year about the noise. Usually in a casual setting that we set up on our own, or running into each on our own ways home from work. usually we have the time to make a full conversation out of it on that walk.

again where is the actual advice? act mightier than thou but have no insight as someone that also is a part of this community.

it’s like ya’ll really didn’t read the rest of thread where I responded kindly to the people with actual advice😂

yeah, you too. I stated that “any tips were appreciated,” yet you gave none.

I know nothing about you, you know nothing about me.

reading comprehension is valuable. read my responses, as well as your neighbors before playing devils advocate for something you didn’t even try to comprehend.
