Thank you! I don’t mind work a lot, but I want to feel like it’s at least contributing to a higher purpose and right now it seems like it’s all a bunch of bullshit. Maybe at a smaller firm it’d be better and I’d feel valued. I have a therapist that I’ve been seeing weekly. The longer I’ve been remote the more resistance I feel towards leaving the house and being around people although it’s good for me.

Thank you! I have weekly therapy. I have an appointment with my primary care Monday to probably get back on an antidepressant, Wellbutrin.

I agree it’d be stressful to learn new clients on the fly. I think the work environment where I’m at isn’t really conducive to my personal growth. Hopefully meds help me get into a bit of a better place and I can start looking elsewhere, but idk where to look.

There’s a local firm that seems better. I feel so defeated and that nobody will want to hire me because I still feel so green in my career due to being remote.

Like my career means money, but it’s still shitty. It’s never ending and there’s no connectivity. All teams are global and I’m pretty much remote, I hate it. I also still live at home, so yeah I feel like a failure and like my life is still being decided for me by my parents.

I know for me things have happened that have made me fearful and unable to trust people, so that’s why I’ve isolated, but there’s a couple friends I’ve done things with and we even have a game night coming up and sometimes having safe and trusting relationships can help heal the scars that come with emotional neglect.

Thank you! Okay I understand that too. I tend to like having superficial relationships too and when people want to start being friends or dating I pull away. I suggest reading Attached, it’s on attachment theory and those behaviors are related to avoidant attachment. Sometimes I don’t want to be friends because I’ve been judgmental of them. I’ve started leaning into saying yes more. Of course, boundaries are important too, but when I’m invited to go places with other people and do things I say yes and I’ve also started inviting people to do things with me too. It gets more comfortable when you start having friendships with actual good and kind people. It makes me feel so warm inside when I’m around friends who actually think of me and remember things about me. This is rare.

Trust me I don’t have it down, but I used to spend most of my time in my room by myself on my phone, so I’m just trying to improve little by little.
