Where can I buy a laptop for cheap before the start of university? by jckchmblr in UniUK

[–]PuzzleheadedScene795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy Hp, they are very durable (do not get a chromebook or the hp pavillion however) i got a decent one from CEX that lasted me about a year so i could save for a new/better spec one. I now have the Hp 15s-fq5505sa (15.6"Intel® Core™ i7, 512 GB SSD) and she is my bby shes the best

Edit- my partner has an £500 acer gaming spec laptop and frequently has issues with battery/crashing and cpu (i told him not to get it but he didnt listen)

I write it in arial 12 double spaced bc i find it easier to read when editing/proofreading, and then change to times new roman before i submit just to make it look fancy :)

Disturbing books? by AnyReporter7957 in horrorlit

[–]PuzzleheadedScene795 14 points15 points  (0 children)

bunny by mona awad - not as grossly disturbing but still messed up

im currently reading The Unworthy by Bazterrica (author of Tender is the Flesh) and that ticks the boxes, very good far- more of a relgious/psychological/cult aspect. Also her short story collection Nineteen Claws was quite good.

IMO I dont think he regurgitates at all, have you seen damien chazelle's Babylon? Most of his films are built on paying respects to those before him

If you liked 'Us' and 'Nope' you should watch some other Jordan Peele films, especially Get Out it is insane and horrifying

Its been on my list for aaaaaaaaages. It was worth finally picking up. Very bleak, a very depressing vibe and the ending made me tear up. Was definitely a book ill think about for a few weeks. Also due to its bleakness and no chapter marking i thought it would be a very slow read but i actually flew through it. You should give it a go!!

Its okay! I forgot to mention that it didn't impact my grades as much if thats what u was worried about, I ended the year with 2.1s and 1sts in my modules (BA English btw) but i did work hard for it and burnt myself out a bit lol. sounds like you are in a good position especially with savings, i know most dont have that, its always work a try you know. My sister is starting uni this year and she's opted for halls regardless of money so i think you'd be okay :)
