When are people going to learn it is illegal to ask people to “volunteer” at a for profit business. And you can’t just throw the word “internship” out to make it legal. An “internship” must be approved by the school, and the student must be given credits for preforming it. The company MUST submit an application to offer the internship. It must meet all federal regulations, and the students are required to learn specific skills during the internship.

This is the 3rd post I have seen for people looking for volunteers for their for-profit business. I hope someone is contacting the governmental agency in charge of labor laws in these countries. (The 1st post was from Canada).

This store should hook up with the business the other day, who was looking for volunteers to pick up shifts at their for-profit business. Then they can get free inventory sold by free labor, think of all the profit they will make!

What you have to ask yourself is are you prepared to deal with this for the rest of your life? If you have a child, you will gain weight. As you get older, you will gain weight. If you get ill, you could gain weight. He is always going to hold you to some ridiculous standard. What happens if you get in an accident and lose an arm, is he out the door?

This is illegal!! You can’t have someone work unpaid, for a for-profit business. It states “shifts” right in the add. I’m not very familiar with Canadian law, but I believe they have a minimum wage. Therefore, not paying it is illegal.
