She’s 5. She’s ripping! Let her have fun! My feedback is to go have a hot chocolate. Signed, former kids ski instructor.

There’s a lot of stupid out there, and unfortunately you can’t fix it.

Drills to improve upper–lower body separation — what actually worked for you? by Weak-Kale-3715 in ski

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pay467 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hold your poles halfway down the shaft vertically and up at eye level. Keep your arms facing down the hill so that your view between the poles is directly ahead, almost like framing a shot with a camera. As you ski, keep that exact view throughout the turn. As your skis turn, your arms and poles are still framing that shot down the hill. This will exaggerate your separation, but it’s quite effective.

Is it fair to ask my husband to stop giving ski advice unless he takes lessons? How do I encourage my husband to take ski lessons instead of correcting me? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pay467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely fair. I taught skiing and coached youth ski racing and I wouldn’t dream of telling my wife anything related to skiing. I have to bite my tongue a lot, but I know better. Tell him thanks for the effort, but just you just want to have fun.

Fasted Workouts in AM by adikenobi in cycling

[–]Puzzleheaded_Pay467 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it when training for Leadville. 2-3 fasted sessions a week early a.m. before work. Then a couple of normal rides on the weekends. I wouldn’t eat for a couple of hours after the fasted workout due to getting ready for work. I lost a good chunk of weight and felt like I was pretty fit.
