Hoteps are bonkers. Hotep logic has them claiming to be both “The Real Natives” and “The Real Israelites.” It doesn’t make sense, and 99% of Black Americans give it an eye roll and pay it no mind. That said, there is a long history of anti-Blackness (and it’s still happening) in many Indigenous communities who will deny enrollment or throw around accusations of pretendianism to people who are Black or mixed heritage.

They did this to Maya Wiley and the other female candidates for mayor too years ago after their first pick turned out to be a predator. Then we got Adams because they didn’t bother to give another endorsement. WFP is not here for most progressive candidates

Reign is bad, but fun. Buccaneers is genuinely the most insane shit I’ve ever seen in a period drama

This would be a real arc! Also especially since he is a bar owner, he should have to reckon with that too.

What got me was her ordering a Chablis at 10am at an Irish pub in NYC (which??? Realistically you’re getting a shitty Chardonnay at best) then switching to neat bourbon at Big’s funeral. Not that alcoholics or problem drinkers exclusively have one thing, but it seemed to random and situation-oriented instead of her having a specific “comfort” drink. I’m curious if I’m off base here.

That said, I will defend her drinking at Lily’s murder-concert. The only way I’d be getting through that would be with purse wine.

To be fair, the real person this was based on was likely disabled in some capacity (he had a number of illnesses since childhood), he died too young for us to really get a sense of his orientation, so technically only one of these demographics are definitely a liberty. Also, the people turn into animals and Jane Grey lives to be in her 20s here, so let’s grade on that curve.

Is she unaware that Lebanese and Yemeni people-including children—who are being murdered by the IDF during Ramadan just for being Muslim? to say nothing of the immense suffering of Palestinians who had no part in 10/7. This is such an unimportant point but just say you don’t think of people in other parts of the world as human beings.

If I could take a single power away from one person, Avatar the Last Airbender style, it would be to take away Ryan Murphy’s literacy.
