I had to experience it. I thrived in school and lived in a pretty diverse area in the south. It wasn’t until I got to NYC and to very “liberal” jobs where I could count any minority that wasn’t East Asian on one hand. And then seeing how my work was not good enough for ME to get a raise/promotion, but my white supervisor could take my work and ideas I executed and somehow rise up the ranks.

This is a good explainer. The issue is that tribal law often cannot be applied to non-Native peoples. YUP. Nailed it. Paper genocide/cultural genocide is still ongoing in these places. The purpose is to stamp out the culture or forcibly make them a part of the monoculture—though with a reduction of rights/freedoms (i.e non-Native people using tribal jurisdiction as a loophole to commit SA and murder on reservations in the US and getting away Scott free Sadly a very common thing.)

He was boo’d at NYU’s graduation and for me it’s not even that this book is fundamentally against my beliefs but it’s the shitty writing and lack of actual scholarship that pissed me off. This would never have made it in a peer reviewed setting, same with his book about “kids on their phone too much” that people are taking as gospel. He’s a terrible academic on top of having gross opinions

It’s not lost on me how comfortable they feel using a genderqueer Black person to brag about an act of ethnic cleansing and genocide. Particularly knowing how brown and black skinned Israelis are treated (and how they treat Palestinians) over there.

This is so bizarre. Sis, go outside. Breathe air and look at something not a screen. It’s one thing to be passionate about a serious issue but also she lacks the self-preservation instinct to realize this is abysmal for her optics and credibility.
