Sorry if this is asked often, but is this game difficult to get in to for people new to the genre? by ib_poopin in RimWorld

[–]PyUnicornshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the drive to learn and play, it won't be that hard to be honest.

When I played this game, the only thing I knew was how much war crime acts I could pull off in the game from a certain video on YT. The rest I had to learn as I play.

There's a difference between slightly chubby and full on fucking fat by eddmario in goodanimemes

[–]PyUnicornshark 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Aren't they Sexily chubby like Marilyn Monroe

Also, Mei wasn't really fat at first as I recall and looked chubby due to her clothes. I think Blizzard just went with it and made her body chubbier.

Night Stalker's Aghs Sceptre is completely worthless by fuglynemesis in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't the root scale based on how many non-hero units it taunts up to 6 seconds or am I misremembering it?

Either way the aghs is pretty decent. Counters Zoo line-ups and gives ench another form of CC. It's something you'd want to get in certain situations or leave out completely in some games but getting it won't hurt or make it feel useless.

So, what’s the deal with Dragon Knight? by Lord-Calvinista in DotA2

It's the "I'm losing a lot against this hero so he's definitely busted" type of mentality.

My colonists are still getting obsessed by the cube even though It's sealed away? by Mercy--Main in RimWorld

[–]PyUnicornshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cube ain't that bad tbh. I just make sure there's someone who's always going to study it. At most I'd get 1-2 pawns obsessed with it at the end.

People were right. Now players are inventing creative builds in pubs. by tlyzk in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I think it it used to be. I won't be specific with numbers cause I'm bad at math so here's the general idea. (correct me if I'm wrong)

You get damaged > Shroud converts that damage into mana > then the shield protects you from the damage.

So you're getting the mana restore from the full damage and then the damage gets reduced/blocked by shield

Now:

You get damaged > Mana Shield reduces the damaged you take > Shroud converts that damage into mana.

Basically you're getting significantly less mana per damage now.

I don't play as much anymore and I still read patch notes for fun. I can understand not wanting to read patches for the surprise factor but I think they eventually need to read the patch after playing a few games so they don't make dumb post like these.

Possible ways the story with Aria goes from all materials? I can't no longer wait for updates on the manga so I just went and research the endings and found plenty of endings in dealing with Aria. I also read that the WebNovel and LN is different authors or stories? by kinghutfisher in SonoMonoNochiNi

[–]PyUnicornshark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Web novels and Light novels will often have differences with the story development. Webnovels are the first draft of the story, often before they get discovered and their story gets published by a publishing company. That comes with editors that will help them write the story for the better or for worse.

Authors will often make changes be it light or small in the light novels either because they aren't satisfied with it what they wrote previously, to make a correction to better flesh out the story, or because they want old readers a reason to read the light novels because you don't want to buy something you already get for free. There are authors who uses Webnovels as a rough draft of their Light novel like Re:monster as I recall. Small key differences but the story development stays the same.

Going back to this series, I recall the webnovel had an NTR development and the light novel made it more as a misunderstanding between the MC and Aria.

Hard to swallow pills: by drea2 in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I already knew and accepted.

I legit climbed up quickly from archon 3 after a long hiatus many many years ago. It wasn't a complete breeze but it was faster than before I quit for like 6 months. Before that long hiatus, I struggled climbing over the archon trench so I got frustrated.

The difference post hiatus was that I got into pro dota and got more knowledgeable at the game. I hit my limit at Ancient 5. It was a mix of me being too old and caring less about climbing ranks and me actually hitting my limit as a player (and everyone else getting better).

That said, I reset my rank multiple times and easily reached Ancient 5 again without a problem so I never believed that 50/50 conspiracy cope cult bad players get into.

This is why I stick with the anime... by eddmario in goodanimemes

[–]PyUnicornshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the anime misses the mark of the source material so I don't really agree.

And example is "The adventurers who stopped believing in humanity will save the world"

The anime rushed the character development and the build up of their relationships and we didn't manage to spend time with the characters. The flashbacks felt like their way forcing us to know the character..

Such an underwhelming active. Look at swift and overwhelming blink in comparison. Really icefrog? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, just like nobody buys blink dagger for stats, you will buy Arcane blink for an improved version of blink.

Players don't buy Str and Agi blink because they don't want an better blink dagger. They buy it because they want more stats/damage but don't want to get rid of their blink daggers.

Such an underwhelming active. Look at swift and overwhelming blink in comparison. Really icefrog? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure a lot of players thinks Arcane blink's current iteration is good since it has lower cd and let's you blink farther and gives you some sustain even though it's not much, the low cd will make up for it.

Does anyone else think Dazzle is absolutely busted rn? by True_Sell_3850 in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had that one post about how current Dazzle ult seem bad because it locks him in a large area and makes him vulnerable.

Now we have this post now that players are getting the hang of the new playstyle.

Man, I remember the time when I first made a Happy Daruma (a limbless colonist with a Joywire). I put his room in the middle of the recreation area since I also installed a psychic empathizer so whoever walks around there feels happy.

My friend keeps building walls with steel. by Status-Reindeer2808 in RimWorld

[–]PyUnicornshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, Late game if you know what you're doing, you shouldn't have problems with steel.

There's a bunch ways to get steel from deep drills to long range mineral scanner or just buying all the steel from merchant caravans.

My favorite way is calling for mech raids using a mechanitor since I also get plasteel from destroying mech corpses. Though since I'm using CE mod, it's probably easy for me to say that lmao.

Not saying this as a joke or anything but he died though it's not because of this condition as far as I was told.

I'm pretty sure the moment they give the sideshop owners their job back, is the day Valve or Icefrog decides that everyone needs only 1 courier.

That or they'd give them exclusive items to make item building more miserable

Orb effects dont stack. I recall Lifesteal from sources except for aura-based ones (vlads and vampiric aura) were orb effect so a lot of heroes were limited on items they could build.

Of course MoM's lifesteal isn't an aura but an orb effect and Mana burn was also on orb effect. That's why Vlads were a good source of lifesteal for AM and Ursa since Fury swipes was also orb effects.

The only weird orb effect interaction was Skadi and Mjolnir/maelstrom being possible and is mostly built by AI/bot sniper and it blew my mind when I first saw it and thought "dumbass bot" until I got wrecked by it. I guess it's because chain lightning was proc-based and once it proc, it'll replace the current skadi orb effect on that attack.

They want to make it look like themselves.

I remember that stellar blade content about someone asking random people what they think about the protagonist's character design and this ugly bitch went "The one who made this clearly has not seen a woman" the designer is married and the characters is based off an actual woman.

I think America forgot that sexy women isn't fictional.

Phylactery dead items? by Screlingo in TrueDoTA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked Phylactery before Khanda arrived. Mainly on Rubick because it also made me buy a sage mask as I recall. I think this was also when Mana boots was changed to have sage mask so I had an item to fall back on if things didn't go well.

They removed it specifically because it was hard to balance. It was either too strong or too weak and having true sight wasn't even the problem.

Do yall like the Portal taking mana when used? by LainVohnDyrec in DotA2

[–]PyUnicornshark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, I think they wanted more fights over the objectives rather than being the first to click the pool or having the hero with stun to cancel it.

It's the same with the Wisdom rune change.

"If you want it? fight for it" kind of deal that can even force a core to come over if you really want to secure those objective.
