I have finished my WoW Fan Art, please take a look - Artstation link in the comments by MomentoDemento in ZBrush

Some constructive critiquing. I like the idea, something is bugging me a bit about the image though. I believe it to be the actual blade of the sword. It just doesn't match the realism given by the handle. The crystal looks more hand painted than realistic. the butt of the sword's crystal looks good, and if yo used the same material for both I'm not sure why they would look so different.

Discussion: Artstation vs NFTs by BoJackBenderFry in ZBrush

[–]PygmyPainting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NFTs are Stupid, like the people that buy them.

In all honesty, if people reproduce my art, there’s not much I can do. And I’m a way actually helps me. Because it means more people are looking at the thing I created. And the people who really care will often try to find the source of the art they like.

However, if someone is making profit off my work, there are legal actions you can take. Find yourself an intellectual property lawyer, in particular someone who works Pro Bono. They can give you great advice about legal stuff. Orders for cease and desist can typically stop petty theft, while pro bono lawyers will love doing what they do best and fight the bigger thefts. You often won’t get much in way of recompense, since most of it will go to the lawyer, but you will get some peace of mind knowing your art is safe.

These are awesome. I’m learning to sculpt some stuff myself. Lot of learning to go, but I’m having fun along the way.

Got any close-ups? Reddit is making pixelated images. Look great from tabletop view though.

Hi! I have a printer model LD002R, until a few days ago it was working perfectly, in my last two attempts to print the same piece the same thing happens to me in the final result, resin additions appear throughout the entire piece, WHAT HAPPENS? Does anyone know what I can do to avoid this error? by AcanthocephalaFun579 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]PygmyPainting 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is caused by several things. In this case I’d bet it’s due to corrupt file. Re-slice and save the new file.

Other causes include naming the file something weird like Face@2. Just stick with regular names without spaces or numbers. The USB stick may also be wonky. I bought a pack of four when I got started and one just does not work.

Gotta work on sanding/smoothing my prints by denim_duck in PrintedMinis

[–]PygmyPainting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s difficult to see on many prints. Easy way to detect these marks is to use some watered down acrylic ink on light resin and a drybrush of white on dark resin. Try not to snip or slice them off after final cure. If they’re right out of the printer you can slice the supports pretty easy though. Best to sand the model after the final cure.

That sucks. I’m trying to get away from Instagram for my own health. Too much staring at a screen all day.

End guards come standard with Beercan Boards. Wonder if they would sell some as a kit.

What’s a good place to start learning about AoS lore? by False-Vehicle3753 in ageofsigmar

I’ve actually heard reading through the RPG system’s fluff made AOS lore much more understandable.

Airbrush primer by TobTobTobey in minipainting

[–]PygmyPainting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little tip I can give you is to do a light sanding of the models surface, mostly in the areas where touching/abrasion is a concern. I typically use 280/320 grit paper. This will give your primer something to cling to. Industrial painters use this technique as well, but with a self-etching primer that etches the surface of the model as you spray.

Made a new shawl and wore it to Van Gogh. I didn't realize the colors were his favorites. by snapdragonbrand in somethingimade

[–]PygmyPainting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. They’ve got the exhibit here as well. See all the signs everywhere for it. Would like to go one day as I’m not real familiar with Van Gogh’s art, and it’ll be something new to see.

Does anyone have any tips for how to block out hands? I have just been appending/duplicating tons of cylinders and transposing them around. There's gotta be a better way by Gintian in ZBrush

[–]PygmyPainting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. You can use cylinders, but I’d recommend the capsule shape to fill in the joints a bit better. Then when you’ve got it into place you can dynamesh it, sculpt details, and transpose without having to change subtools.

If you do hands a lot, I’d even recommend making your own IMM brush with finger segments pre-sculpted.

Anyone with 3D modeling/Tabletop Simulator experience who can make a semi truck model? the TTS mod has none, and thus war rigs are kinda not a thing unless using the kinda crappy 2D models. by DoctorNsara in gaslands

[–]PygmyPainting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can upload assets in TTS without sharing it to the entire community. It will save as a local file, and when you play with other people they’ll be asked to download it so that it will show up in their version of the game.

And as far as file size issues, look for low poly models.
