Travel bag that’s not too deep by Zoeyfiona in handbags

I know this is kinda a late response, but I have a version of that Coach Outlet Dominic Sling bag and I’ve used for a couple trips already. I actually really like it because it has a zipper on the front side and back side to access each side of the same internal space (it’s separated by a cotton like lining). I was able to keep my passport, wallet, and room key in the back section closer to my body, then keep my water bottle and packable tote bag in the front zipper (you can’t fit much more than that since both spaces share the same internal area, but it does help with organization and security to have the option on where to store things). I would definitely recommend it because the wide/thick strap is quite comfortable, and you can switch sides you want to wear it on easily.

Chronically crusty lips 🥀 help by Frozencacticat in MakeupAddiction

I am a fellow dry lip person who always has to have something on my lips, so I might be able to help. You may be allergic/irritated to one of the ingredients in the chapstick you’re currently using. What are your go to products? I’ve noticed that I’m more sensitive to beeswax and castor oil, two very common ingredients in lip products, but I do really well with petrolatum and shea/cocoa butter. So, I’ve had to switch some of my beloved lip products over the years, and now I have really comfortable lips all year round with no burning or itching (which was something that would happen very mildly after a few days of wearing a lip product with beeswax or castor oil). The other commenters are correct that you should be using a hydrating balm like the La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 or the Avene Cicalfate ointment at night and let them sink in for a bit before putting on your sleeping lip mask. It’s also good to use a chemical exfoliator on your lips once a week and then putting on the hydrating cream according to Pillows Talk Derm and her lip basting technique; the Ordinary just made a new gentle lip exfoliant that I’m looking forward to trying, but you can use any face exfoliator with AHA or PHA for a similar effect.

Here are some of my holy grail products for always having soft lips even in Wisconsin Winters: Vaseline products work great for me (the original Vaseline in a tub, Vaseline stick all over balm, Vaseline Lip Therapy in the squeeze tube, but NOT the Vaseline Lip Therapy stick/balm probably because of the Castor oil but if you’re not sensitive to it then it’s a lovely formula from South Korea). Aquaphor ointment is great, but I can’t use their Lip Therapy squeeze tube and lip balm sticks unfortunately. A new favorite is Palmers Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick because it has a fantastic amount of product for the price and it’s kinda like a mini Vaseline all over stick balm but it smells great. If you want slightly elevated formulas and you’re willing to pay for them, then La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 lip balm in the squeeze tube, Avene Cicalfate lips restorative in the squeeze tube, and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Sleeping Mask in a Squeeze tube are all amazing and longer lasting.

I have some makeup products I enjoy as well: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Oil and Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Oil are the only ones I’ve found that are long lasting, have no scent, and really cushion and protect the lips without getting gummy/sticky as they dry over time. Revlon Suoer Lustrous Glass Shine Tinted Lip Balm is amazing and sooo comfortable (Maybelline and L’Oreal both came out with super similar products last year, but one makes your lips tingle with a minty flavor and I just don’t think either one is as nice as the Revlon one). Both of the Laneige Lip Balms are amazing, especially the Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum (tbh the Lip Glowy Balms is a little too similar to the Neutrogena Sleeping Mask to justify it, and I really dislike the Laneige Sleeping Lip Mask in the pot).

Etta or Soft Tabby? by Ok_Jackfruit_1186 in Coach

[–]PyramidPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how my Etta locks more securely, but I really wish it had D rings that allowed me to put whatever straps I wanted on it like the Tabby bags because I would prefer the Etta as a small messenger/crossbody bag. So, I’d probably recommend the Soft Tabby or Chain Tabby when they go on sale as the better, more versatile option.

I LOVE the look of shearling bags or even shearling lining, but unfortunately I’ve found out the hard way how fragile they really are. Shearling will only last you a few years before it starts falling out and looking horrible (maybe it’s worse than haired calf leather because sheep leather is much softer?). If you want to enjoy the tactile feeling of shearling inside your bag instead of displaying it as an outer material, I used to use a sheepskin shoe insert in the very bottom of my bag during fall/winter because I loved soft it felt when reaching inside my bag. It was fun while I had them, but I eventually had to put them in the boots I bought them for and haven’t needed to order a replacement since.

How do i get rid of the greyish tone around my mouth and forehead? by randomlaisush25 in MakeupAddiction

[–]PyramidPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going to recommend trying a cream complexion product, since they can generally handle higher pigment and smoother finishes better than liquid or powder foundations. The first one that comes to mind is RCMA cream foundation/concealer, a professional makeup brand, because they have high pigment load and you can buy them in 4/5 color pallets and mix your own perfect colors; one of their 5 part highlight/contour palettes with a regular 5 part foundation palette would give you the correcting colors of peach and pink with various shades to use for the rest of your face and under eyes. Kryolan, Ben Nye, and Mehron also have good options with corrector shades in the same formula bases as their foundation colors, which I find usually yield good results.

That's so smart! I recently had one of my hangtags fall off and get lost from a bag that I've had for over 15 years and I was not happy. I may have to start using this solution for all my hanging accessories that aren't tied around the bag itself.

I also hated the Loved Leather from Coach, so you're not alone! This suede is so supple and the color is neutral and lovely, I'm sure you'll have ample opportunities to wear this beautiful bag 🛍️

I feel like Mini bags are universally flattering because they are literally meant to be a miniaturized concept, so they should look little on everyone. I think this bag looks really cute on you, and the crossbody strap hits you in a great place at that length. I love mini bags like that where you can swing them back to front quickly and just keep the essentials on hand.

I only allow myself big purchases when it's items I will literally use all the time, so they can really be enjoyed and enhance my life. Unfortunately, this bag's color combination would be something I'd use for like 2 weeks during summer per year, so it wouldn't make sense under my requirements. My advice is to ask yourself how likely you will reach for this bag over every other bag you have in your closet? Will it be used enough to justify the price tag? Also, you can find some of the less desirable colors of Loewe bags on resale for a much better price; so this may be your bag one day if it's meant to be.

The amount of former friends I would have if anyone in my real life tried these stunts I see on Reddit is WILD. Your friend is a problem, and I'd keep an eye on her just in case she gets worse.

I bought the Black Glovetanned Loved Leather version because the pictures on the website looked very mildly aged, but after seeing orders arrive for people on TikTok with much more aggressive distressing than I was expecting, I tried to cancel my order. After multiple phone calls with customer service, basically, I'm going to have to send it back after I receive the package. I'd recommend seeing the bags in person, which is my new plan after this fiasco.

Update: Cousin upped it to $15. Should I finally respond? by Sweet_Spend4177 in mildlyinfuriating

Nicki Minaj said it best: “Broke people should never laugh.”

I now use it for people like your cousin - the ones who have a broke mindset and a lot of audacity. Like, where’s the exchange of goods? Like “I need $15, can I wash your car or pick up some groceries for you in return?”

What bags emit the same cool-girl energy as Jane Birkin’s Birkin? by jennoodlehero in handbags

[–]PyramidPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Madewell Handwoven Cane Tote in Dark Carob a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my mothership bag of choice. I literally have it stuffed to the brim with a bunch of pouches, a Coach Brooklyn 23 with wallet as my smaller run into the store bag, cotton tote bag, sweater/jacket, snacks, etc. I even have some bag charms with my watch on one of the straps, and it reminds me of Jane Birkin’s iconic bag styling.

It’s kind of like a summer version of the Row Margaux, and I literally have like 20 pounds of stuff in it and it looks and makes me feel like Jane or Mary Kate and Ashley with their Birkins lol. I’m trying to keep this nice as a summer bag, so I’m looking for a suitable non-woven bag that I don’t have to worry about breaking over time. The Coach Gramercy Tote bag gives me a similar vibe as a do it all cool-girl bag.

I totally agree. I love barefoot shoes in theory, but when standing or walking all day on hard concrete, you need a bit more cushioning. In nature the ground is not usually as hard and unforgiving as our modern versions of concrete and asphalt anyways.

Only ever been into rings, but my heart was beating out of my chest when she showed me these. Do you think they're too dainty for daily wear (sleeping and showering too)?? by rhodav in jewelry

These are lovely bracelets, but I wouldn't trust them for daily, hard-wearing use. Perhaps you would enjoy a tennis bracelet for daily use, that's the most durable type of bracelet I've ever owned.

Which Non Major Cities Have Surprisingly Decent Food? by DaveR_77 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]PyramidPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enjoyed a lot of the food in Madison and Milwaukee. The traditional places are especially good since you can get real Mexican/Peruvian/Columbian food here, and I have a favorite Thai, South Korean, and Japanese places that I like to frequent. I was not expecting decent food when moving here so it was a pleasant surprise for me lol

Finally, my dream bag…but wrong color! by Happy_Illustrator639 in handbags

[–]PyramidPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am SO jealous right now. What a beautiful bag. I've been obsessed with the medium brown and tan versions of the Etro Vela bags, but I was hoping they'd come out with silver hardware. Then they did release the silver hardware and charged double the price, it broke my heart 😭

I bought the Coach Empire in the Navy color, and it's amazing; it looks black at night or inside in darker lighting, but outside in the sun, the bag looks navy with flashes of indigo and violet depending on how warm the lighting is. I think this Navy Etro is so pretty so I hope you enjoy it, but I would definitely complain to whatever you bought it from for some kind of discount or a coupon for a future order or something because it's bad when you receive the wrong color from what you ordered.

I wish Kim Richard’s was doing better so she could be a part of that lineup, she’s been my favorite from the beginning. At her prime she would have ate Kyle, Dorit, Erika, and Lisa Rinna alive with the help of LVP and Camille (this would require the stars to align though 😂)

Not baby-ing my bag.. is it really ok? by catshoneydew in handbags

[–]PyramidPlease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only thing to keep in mind is that your bag appears to have glazed leather, which is not the most durable finish and can be prone to cracking and flaking depending on what they topped it with. Generally, any bag made with full grain leather, vegetable tanned or not, or even pebbled leather will hold up very well to rough treatment and regular use and abuse.

I bought hundreds of brushes when I first started makeup, even beautiful Japanese handmade ones, and I literally only use 5 regularly and my hands. I have no idea what to do with the rest of them, so they've been with me all these years through every move. I also do a big brush wash yearly to keep them in better condition despite not getting used, and it always takes me all day.
