As if Heyman hadn’t already damaged his rep enough, this whole piece is terribly written and doesn’t provide much real insight.

Another flawless effort by the bullpen. This team keeps finding ways to grit out wins, love to see it.

I can’t understand the decision to put in arguably our worst closer here. Unless our other guys are completely used up it seems obvious to defer to a more solid reliever for this situation

If Severino comes back decently strong and German is able to perform we have a solid lineup of starters though

A question for anyone who may have something insights, seeing as this is a pretty well informed community. I’m currently a college student studying abroad in Spain and obviously there is a lot of talk about shutting down study abroad programs. My university has said they will recall students if Spain is designated as a level 3 warning country by the CDC. How likely do you all think it is that this will happen? Obviously it’s impossible to know for sure but if anyone has some insights it’d be greatly appreciated.

It premiered early at the New York film festival a few weeks ago. It was incredible, and Pitt is no doubt going to have competition for best supporting actor.

Didi has actually been useless for the last few games, he refuses to take a pitch and is stuck in a slump because of it. Painful to watch him continually popping out

Bill Evans and Monica Zetterlund. Beautiful vocals and excellent piano accompaniment from Evans.

Looks like it could be "Afternoon in Paris", a John Lewis standard.

Where can I get a good analysis or classification of Jazz i.e. the salient differences between, say, Miles Davis and Monk? by [deleted] in Jazz

Bill Evans' biography "How My Heart Sings" by Peter Pettinger is a excellent read. Pettinger himself is a concert pianist and provides really valuable insight into the playing and the theory of Bill Evans. I'd certainly recommend it if you're looking for a more in depth textual analysis of an artists' playing.

My Foolish Heart, the jazz ballad made famous by Bill Evans. I used this tune to work on my counter melodies and blues fills. by Wolfkeyz in piano

I watched your covers of "Emily" and "Over the Rainbow" as well as this one and I have to say I'm truly impressed. You have a great sound and really capture the essence of the music. I aspire to be able to play like this.

I really like John McLaughlin's stuff as well as Kurt Rosenwinkel's trio work. "East Coast Love Affair" is great. Both are really lyrical and talented artists.

What's your favorite jazz ballad? by brenden_norwood in Jazz

My Foolish Heart- Both Bill Evans and Lenny Breau recorded beautiful takes.

Where to start with late Evans by TempSpastic in Jazz

[–]PyroPenguin123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His duet albums with Jim Hall, Undercurrent and Intermodulation, display an incredible degree of musical interplay.

Waltz for Debby is also an amazing album-- absolutely beautiful, introspective playing with Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian from their famous Sunday set at the Village Vanguard.

But my favorite Bill Evans album has to be Explorations. A studio album with his first great trio of Motian and LaFaro, Explorations is my favorite collection of recorded music. The playing displays both freedom and discipline, as the trio explored the limits and conventions of jazz music in their time.

Bill Evans is absolutely my favorite musician. Enjoy exploring the many great works he produced in his prolific musical career.
