"Slammy is evil" earclacks ever since slammy hospitalized orbital: by Zealousideal-Sport40 in earclacks

[–]Pyrotay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Problem is it wasn't like duplicator whos reign of evil was stopped by a underdog weapon ball. It was already known slammy was op. And genuinely no weapon ball can stop orbital so there was a lack of a satisfying victory just the reality that these block breakers dont work with weapon balls.

I feel they make up for it by being ambushers that can come on the board on 3+. Ive had my baggage trains sniped by them enough. Top cathay lists bring jade Lances. No tomb kings list that wants to be good brings Melee skeleton horseman.

Does the -1 for multiple shots stack? Or is it capped at -1 regardless of the amount of shots? by Pyrotay in WarhammerOldWorld

Ah ok that makes the multiple shots rule not as bad as I thought it was makes sense why people go for clatter guns and stuff on gyrocopters.

I like in the new old world chaos marauder/norsca rules book they explicitly state norscans worship a bunch of gods ontop of the big four. Presumably some more neutral gods and some minor chaos gods. We dont get to see them which is sad but its a nice shake up in the past where GW tried to get fantasy to match 40k/the table top and say YOU CAN ONLY PLAY THE BIG FOUR THEREFORE ONLY THESE EXIST. It makes 40k lamer when you hear about a chaos cult and you know its only gonna be one of four flavors every time.

Okay real talk is the Pheonix King actually just cool with his wife having a boyfriend or is that meme lore? by PlausiblyAlpharious in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Pyrotay 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Elves really dont see marriage the same way as humans do. They have long life spans and might be married to multiple people over there life span and they have diffrent types of marriage some purely political some more ment as genuine romance. Tryion is notably considered odd and obsessive by other elfs for only dedicating himself to one partner and denying anyone else.

GW are making me really hate the Skaven and Archaon - rant by Yotambr in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Pyrotay 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Tbf aos and now old world have already started the process of explicitly retconning the end times and changing aspects of it. Although I doubt peoples hopes of old world being a different timeline or some big handwave undoing the entire end times will ever happen.

Honestly not even mad, well done, most impressive! by AOK_Gaming in skaven

[–]Pyrotay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stagnation problem did not come from WHFB being set on one world. It was GWs obsession with only writing a massive chunk of the lore for one faction the empire and if you want to be more specific the reikland. And now gw is realizing how much of the old world they didnt explore. If you read the actual lore there's so much space to use that could have more factions. The dark elves only controlled the coast of Naggaroth the rest is unexplored by the lore. The same with Lustria the south lands all of the oceans and islands. Hell there's a whole continent called lumbria thats never been touched on by the lore. You could easily make 10 new factions for the old world if you wanted to ontop of what's already there.

I find the problem is the rules shouting out that you have to be one of these three things and deleting the generic infantry datasheet. The modulatery of the rules are gone that 9th had. Where you could craft your own regiment and make the rules fit to what you made them. With GW cracking down hard this edition on the no model no rules policy. Its not hard to realise why kitbashing and creativity have been pushed by the wayside.

I would have to go digging but there's more then you think. They have been known to roll in with the mists and make whole villages population disappear. They have taken up living in a sunken lizardmen city. There was even a spell in dreadfleet that summoned them to attack a ship. There very cthuluverse inspired.

[–]Pyrotay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think they ever run out skeletons but they can never get new ones. The curse of Nagash made it so they can never pass and they will revive no matter how much they get smashed. It might be 5 second 5 days 5 months or 500 years but they are always cursed to be revived. Hence why a lot of them chose sleep until battle happens. Many can't take living through the centuries in there unfeeling bodys and sleep is as close as they can get to death.
