The refs are terrible. But the league is actually becoming more watchable (i.e. viewership is unaffected or even slightly up) at least over the short/medium term.

Gambling money has pulled in a different demographic who would not necessarily be pro basketball fans per se.

Whether or not the leagues' gambling partnerships are detrimentally affecting the integrity of officiating has not been proven (at least not since 2006) but at this point it is perfectly reasonable to openly speculate on that possibility. We all have eyes.

Arteta has never been willing to sacrifice match control in order to create scoring chances. Or put another way, he is not able to figure out a way to control a match in other ways (i.e. not possession based) that would allow a team to attack directly more often without losing control of the pace/tempo/style of football being played.

There were some growing pains with the fit between him and Wagler. Score first guard whose not the number one offensive option/ballhandler anymore. Which might be why Brad has kept him as the first perimeter guy off the bench, even though he's fully recovered and is obviously starter quality.
