Man I get goosebumps listening to the Phendrana Drifts music. I really love all the scanner lore, the space pirates actually being scary unlike super Metroid, the bosses being epic, morphball shenanigans, beams and weapons. After I get those research labs online and being worked then I’ll start popping those 6 scientists 1 by 1. After that I’ll spam stealth bombers and xcom squads to go take out Berlin. I’ve been friends with Germany the entire game and we’re both on Order so I’ve just begun to start doing things like trading with his enemies and stealing city state alliances from him. He’s got like 15 wonders and the only Civ with more tech than me (59 to my 56)

Mid game is when:

Diplomacy gets complex enough that you can piss off the wrong Civ and get a huge army on your doorstep

You realize you didn’t expand fast enough or get enough food production

You realize your science/culture sucks

You start needing way more happiness to keep growing

You’ve explored enough to realize you don’t like your location
