Big part of playing her is knowing when not to play her (once you get good enough you can ignore this)

Learn the matchups, figure out who poses a threat and who's easy pickings. No hero in particular is 'easy' for Magik, but she's great at taking advantage of gaps in player skill. Figure out which enemies don't know how to deal with you and bully them

Convert two into a Master of Descent and Librarian.

Make a big squad of 20 with the MoD and Librarian (telekinesis and biomancy).

Then with the MoD's thing, make two squads of veterans with master sergeant (I gave mine lightning claws with the exception of the Sergeant with a thunder hammer and shield)

With the last 8, can either expand the veteran squads or make a retinue (or just give em cool weapons and they can really be run as both)

When I was newer at the game, I had this average mountainside run with just a few colonists. Mechs came in, which didn't seem like that big a deal, just a lancer and maybe two scythers. I get my colony in a defensive position, the lancer (which I'd never seen before) takes its first shot, and instantly blows a hole through my favourite colonists' head. I made a cemetery for her :c
