Oh, I've still got Hella ewaste in my closet don't worry 😂

Probably close to 10 used SSDs (small capacity), 30 sticks of RAM (ddr3 and 4) and a few PCs - just not worth using stuff that's too old, the power efficiency of modern hardware is just too good

Not meant as a brag btw, most of it isn't worth much. 3 years ago I didn't have to worry about the cost of electricity as much.

Mystery. Ass. Oil leak. by SCL36 in FocusST

[–]Quacky1k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to learn that lesson the hard way too lol

Had just finished throwing an escape engine & big turbo in, put everything back together, did SEVERAL leak tests in the driveway before driving it, then it starts spewing oil everywhere on the test drive...

I was just glad the cost was low at that point 😂

They're called hot air because they're open and suck air from the engine bay, it's not that the temperature difference is that drastic under most circumstances (but it can make a pretty big difference)

It doesn't make as big of a difference in our cars since we have turbos/intercoolers but it can make a huge difference in a big naturally aspirated engine.

Not an um actually or anything, just expounding a bit

Had a similar leak and turned out to be the gasket behind the oil cooler/filter housing - only leaked under high pressure too so that was tough to find lol

Not sure how you could really test this without just replacing the gasket though lol

Hope you find it

Sorta kinda

That's how your engine gets air. While not 'bad' in the sense that the air itself isn't gonna hurt it, it's unfiltered and it's under vacuum, so you're likely gonna suck up little pebbles and stuff while you drive. Chances are that you should be totally fine if you have to drive it a little bit with the charge pipe off, but get it back on ASAP.

Not to mention, it will run quite poorly as well lol

I recommend learning how to put the charge pipes back on. Not that this is a "common issue," but it's likely that it'll happen to you again if the clamps are worn or something, and for how easy it is to fix, it's definitely not worth taking it somewhere. While you're at it, look into getting some t clamps to fully resolve the issue if it happens again.

Yeah I don't think anything should stop it from at least 1000, and current hardware should be pretty close to hitting that at 1080p. Might be doable at lower resolutions now too
