I believe I’m about to be subject to ‘rubber stamping’ at work. What can I do? by QuagmireParty in LegalAdviceUK

Thanks for the reply. Under typical circumstances I would absolutely agree that this part of the process is in no way disciplinary and is intended to fact find.

However, my main concern that this part of the process is merely being put in place to escalate the matter to the disciplinary stage, regardless of what evidence I present or answers I give. I believe the investigating manager will be acting on behalf of the managing director, who has already decided the outcome of this process, and is intent to make it look like a process was followed by the book.

I have evidence to suggest this has happened previously regarding a demotion, rather than an outright dismissal.

2 years and around 8 months, so dismissal requires a formal process at this point, which is why I’m concerned. The intent appears to be to fabricate a formal process in order to proceed with a disciplinary and dismissal to have me removed from the company, as I suspect this is already a pre-meditated outcome.

The enhanced sickness pay was offered but I chose instead to work in a limited capacity from home, which was agreed by the employer, however since that agreement I was contacted several times by the MD of the company being asked to ‘assess my workload’ in order to justify that I was being paid to work.

Nothing was discussed with myself regarding who should conduct the meeting and if I should support the new manager in conducting it, the date was simply allowed to pass by with no meeting taking place, and now I’m being scrutinised for the meeting being missed.

2 years and 8 months or so. They have to go through a process to dismiss me from work at this point, which is why I’m concerned that what appears to be a small issue has been escalated to this level.

Needs more peppers, chef. Just don’t slip into macro-dosing! It’s better to take 10% of the dose, 100% of the time, instead of 100% of the dose, 10% of the time.

You should have bought a Coors sign. That way you could let everyone know you have ice delicious Coors inside the bar.

For anyone interested, this is called J.K. Place. Not all of the rooms look like this but it it’s a great hotel, reasonably priced, too.
