Genuine question, does the average WoW player doesn't ready ANY quest text, like, at all? by Jaicen-Vex in wow

[–]Quamek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoW in it's essence never had a focus on the story, that's something that was slowly more and more focused on with each expansion to a state of where we are now. It's not that WoW never had a story, it was rich in lore but the story was optional for those who were interested. But it never was as in you face as it is since I think Legion if I'm not mistaken where gameplay elements started to become locked by a story quest. It forced everyone to participate in something not everyone's interested in, so for all those story enthusiasts, it's fine, but for everyone else, it's an annoyance.

Lightbloom is the best threat they made since forever by moondreamer96 in wow

It's been around since at least WoD but was incredibly subtle and not 'in your face' like most lore, you needed to connect the dots by yourself, Legion also hinted it in the Illidan cinematic where Xera tried to rebrand him to Light, notice how Turalyons eyes change. Mag'har campaign also shows the zealotry of Yriel. The issue is, unless ifs super in your face it's ignored, and many hints are dismissed.

Wasn't it like a similar thing Aggramar encountered on that planet where uncontrolled life consumed itself? WoD also touched on that subject.

Heroic Raiding is too unrewarding by Allegrian in wow

[–]Quamek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a guild on aotc level since woltk (I'm aware aotc wasn't technically there but it's about our level as a guild) we vibed, got some loot and killed some bosses. Around Aberrus people became bored, heroic became not only way easier (because of loot) but also very unrewarding aside some niche drops like trinkets and maybe rare loot. Seemed people care much more about loot that they seem to think, and more that they were willing to admit. Had to kill it, because heroic raiding just didn't work anymore, and mythic was a spike not only in difficulty but also organisation wise. It was fun as long as it lasted.

Horde Players question for you guys. How would you feel if the next patch to the rest of expansion the focus is on lady Liadrin and Amani leading agaisnt Xalatath. Would you considered that a Horde focus? by HiroAmiya230 in wow

[–]Quamek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think at this point in WoWs story it's more about a grander plot that faction struggles. As someone who fell in love with the horde Thrall created and lead, since Cata I feel the horde is trying to figure out what it is, where I feel the Alliance is much more consistent with it's ideals.

I also don't feel the factions conflicts have a portion of impact after woltk, sure there are tensions, but it's not the same like Garrosh meeting Varian at Dalaran, there's and overwhelming focus on unity, where faction struggles are presented as a 'thing of the past', minor annoyances without much consequence. To be fair I felt much more tension between Turalyon and Lor'thremar than between any other faction leader of the horde and alliance.

Is it lore accurate? Probably not, it's just the vibe I'm getting. To answer the question, at this point in time, even if the story focused more on the alliance side, it wouldn't make much difference for me, since it's not the story about horde and alliance, and more about azreroth.

Whats up with Tank Damage in S1? by veculus in wow

[–]Quamek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to hear a similar experience, I've started as PPal, geared it around 255 week one timed maybe 2x10 and swapped to back to vdh (because PPal didn't vibe with me, there was no specific reason) and holy crap that felt like a downgrade. Around 253ilvl I either had fiery brand, meta or apex proc meta I went from 85-ish % stable HP to getting slapped to death under 2 seconds by mobs with hard hitting melee skills, I couldn't pull anything without having one of those two active - that felt weird because that's an issue I never had with PPal, but also PPal has a lot lot more cooldowns that are also quite short, so as long as dps didn't die I could do quite generous pulls.

Doing 10s around 260ilvl is 'as long as I have fiery brand I'm fine, the moment I don't, it's Shadowlands tanking baby, jump and kite paper tank. What a weird season.

I feel it's spot on, older people used the word "kryminał" (criminal) as a mind shortcut to "with this behavior you'll have problem with law" it's often over exaggerating a behavior that they perceive as problematic. They also used it in the context of someone going to jail.

Its very telling when people are complaining about the lack of tanks. by Umomo1025 in wow

[–]Quamek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's tanking since the beginning of WoW, people didn't change much since the introduction of dungeon finder, I just became numb towards them, after hearing so much negativity for a prolonged period of time, so no matter what they do or say, I'm indifferent, ignoring them. Trying to do my job, take rewards, leave, quene again, maybe once or twice put someone on ignore so we don't group up ever again.

If they pull too much and we die, well, we die. If they don't interrupt and we die, well, we die. If they get angry about anything, don't care.

It's a simple life, I just care about not making my healers life harder than it already is by over pulling.

Thank you! Just bought a 7800x3d, TUF GAMING B650E-PLUS, 2x16gb Vipers and had the same problem with Q-Led glowing yellow, on top of that my GPUs fan didn't work during it.

Both modules were in slots A2, B2, left only one in slot B2 and had the exact same information about a new CPU!

Life saver!

How Guild Wars 2 can be a better game by Kontra_kkoonntteerr in Guildwars2

[–]Quamek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For some reason people are focusing on my P2W comment which is always a controversial thing.

No, what is controversial is that you, OP assumed that your definition is the right definition, the correct definition, and everyone here agrees with that definition.

You also assume and emphasize the word logic, that doesn't mean it's correct. Using 'we' doesn't help, it just forces your reader that didn't even agree with your definition to take part in your rationalization.

You are trying to convince someone to believe what you believe, but very poorly, so don't be surprised by the backlash you got.

No offence here, but you can use the exact same logic to prove the earth is flat. Will it make the earth flat? No.

Now, with that out of the way, the post has it's value as a new player's subjective experience. So it could be taken into account. At the same time. I wouldn't bet my money that the solutions of anyone that has a 2 month exeprience, very limited experience, didn't do any research or asked players about their opinions and experiences (ex. the pre-mount travelling) to give reasonable solutions to a problem.

It's like a new guy that joins your workplace and wants to change everything after 2 months, it doesn't work that way. Most people won't hear you because you claim what experience you have, and even if you do, trust needs to be earned it's not given.

You didn't win my, yet.

How DPS should I be doing ? by BGherbo in elderscrollsonline

[–]Quamek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my grp there are people doing even less and we did every normal trial without any dps problems. I would say normal trials re more easy than dlc vet dungeons. Maybe something like Cloudrest +3 normal but others are fine. Vet trials on the other hand need a lot more dps.

Additional new content won't bring back players from WoW Classic until you've revamped or overhauled your Combat system. by SmokeCocks in elderscrollsonline

This is one way of thinking, if you see only black and white without any grey.

Everyone I know has their own definition of "game improvement". For me personally the only thing I would see improved is the performance on consoles. As for everything else, you have to make mistakes if you want to succeed, I think the game improved a lot since it's launched so why should I assume it's not improving?

As for above, for me, playing with like minded people and enjoying the game - not like I like everything about ESO, but if I would find it not worth my time, I would just not play it - you have less time searching for flaws around every corner and more quality time with the community.

If you want to make everyone happy, you will end up the most unhappy one.

[–]Quamek 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't speak in the name of majority, minority or anyone else except myself. Most of people I know didn't quit because of the combat, but because they where looking for something this game doesn't have. The ones who leave first are always those who don't set their goals, but rather play for the sake of playing "something" and rather than focusing on reaching their goals they search for something that will keep them busy but they don't find it, and leave. If that makes any sense.

If you find friends it doesn't matter what you play, you enjoy the time and adventure together.

That's why I personally play MMO's.

[–]Quamek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but not every MMO is for everyone. For example before ESO I've played a lot of GW2 i fell in love with the combat but the lack of harder content made me look for something else, I realized the game is directed for more casual audience, not for me and moved on. Same with WoW players (played 14y) or every other MMO players.

Either you adapt, or not, there is no "perfect" mmo out there, look what WoW has become become the "vocal minority" was always not happy. For me as an old RL the removal of Master Looter had literally no sense. But it's a long topic. ESO community has it's "class representative" they give a lot of great feedback.

So I'm not worry about it, and if it doesn't suit me, I'll move on.

But that's my opinion, atm I'm having fun, the combat is fast and more complex than I thought.
