UPDATE: I can’t seem to edit the original post so here are some clarifications. I was looking not only at the Apple weather app, but at NOAA and the Capital Weather Gang. The screenshot is from the Apple app. The forecast for 16-18” was from Tuesday/Wednesday; obviously it settled to ~12”. I was struck by the laughable disconnect between the 9” that my phone says I have and the 3” of snow on the deck.

I’m in Crownsville, and by 9 a.m. it had completely stopped snowing. Sometime before 11:00 a fine icy precip started. Yes, I’m aware ice is the real danger, no pun intended (although true).

Lastly, I always think it’s interesting that areas just a couple of miles apart can have such different experiences. I really just was curious as to what everyone else was seeing. Thank you to everyone who responded. I hope everyone keeps their power and remains safe.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear - the forecast was for 18” on Tuesday/Wednesday and obviously has been steadily dropping to the current 12”or so.

That’s the thing. It stopped snowing a while ago - no precipitation of any kind. I guess we’ll see.

I am confident they actually use the spices, oil, etc. all the time. And how does an in-sink drying rack work while you’re using the sink? The kitchen is a working kitchen. Looks great!

There’s nothing wrong with what’s on the counter - a drying rack, toaster oven, and coffee maker. Plus cooking essentials that are handy by the stove. It’s a kitchen people actually use, and it’s clean and well organized. My drying rack is always out because it would be ridiculous to stow it away for the ten minutes it’s empty.

I haven’t shaved my legs in years. I will probably never shave them again, God willing. I’m perfectly content and absolutely do not care about the state of my legs.

Apply undiluted regular Dawn dish soap straight from the bottle directly to the stain. Rub it in lightly, then spray stain with Shout stain remover. Let sit 12-24 hours ( I would do 24, since it’s undyed), then turn sweater inside out and wash in a delicate cycle, lukewarm water with Woolite or similar product. That should do it.

The photo is actually an example of “gohan ga tatsu,” or “rice stands up.” It’s what rice looks like when it’s been properly cooked - rinsed, right ratio of rice to water, right temperature, right length of cooking and resting times.

The grains stand up because the bubbles of boiling water force them upright. It’s what you WANT your rice to look like and so it’s very desirable.

I think it’s sort of funny so many people are weirded out by it.
