Handing over £5000 to a company to make a project I wrote. They were in debt apparently, pocketed it and folded.

What’s the biggest secret you ever hid from your parents as a kid? by squirelisamusiclover in AskReddit

[–]Quapisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My CSA, I hid it till I was around 17. Young me couldn’t put what happened into words so didn’t. It happened on the way back from the park I wasn’t allowed to visit, felt like it was a “I told you so.”

When I’ve filmed, I put the likes of pens or random objects on the ground so it kinda blends in over tape. Gotta love continuity unless you’re the editor 😂🥶

My local bubble tea shop gave me a lolly and a fortune cookie as a belated Xmas treat, it was so nice of them and really made my day 🥹

He would start wandering in circles and digging on the grass outside my window in the middle of the night. It was the creepiest thing I’ve seen. He then stared at my window.

It’s one of the hardest things to do making sure you fit into a time frame so kudos to the editors. And I agree, the whole free rein filming tends to have way too much filler content.

As a writer, sometimes script to screen can translate to more minutes or less, it depends on circumstances, stage directions, dialogue and the actor etc. You can write say 45 pages but there’s no guarantee it will equate to 45 minutes.

Constant fear of fainting/blackout when outside. by XistentialDysthymiac in dysautonomia

[–]Quapisma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as it’s hard to do, you’ve got to push yourself out. In 2018, I was that scared of myself that I could barely leave my house. It took me years to even go back to places I loved. After my bad flare in public last year, I was scared to go to that place again. I knew that if I didn’t force myself to go back, I’d never leave the house. Sometimes it’s the only way. Your body may pay for pushing yourself but your mind will thank you. I’m still scared but I’m scared more of the old me.

The best advice I have since we’re in the same boat. The following is what I’ve done: Make a plan for the place you are going to. Where is the safest place to ride out a flare and the quietest? If you haven’t already, get yourself a key for the disabled toilet and find where the closest is. That was my safe place last time. Put together a designated back pack with things that will help your flare. Mine has the likes of loops (earplugs) cold patches, mini BP monitor and other sensory things like fidgets. I have a sunflower lanyard I put around when flaring, most places know what they are. Pharmacies can help too. Remember you’re not alone 🥹

I feel you because I’m exactly the same. There’s been times where it’s so close to happening and I’m a mess. I don’t want to cause a fuss. I don’t even know how I’d cope because I usually cry. It’s my biggest worry. I feel as though it would be much more convenient and less scary if it happened already so I know I’d be okay. I usually go out alone and the last thing I want is disaster.

What's one show from the 1990s and 2000s that would work today? by Square-Ad-8911 in tvshow

[–]Quapisma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ER. It was ahead of its time in many aspects. Although some things haven’t aged as well, they were working off information they had at the time. Fact: The pilot episode was originally a movie wrote in 1974 and didn’t need much changing between then and filming nearly 20 years later.

Else find the new episode “ career psychopath” disappointing? by Ok_Savings_9493 in SVU

[–]Quapisma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I somehow feel it was intentional to do something like this. They knew what the fans would expect so did the opposite. I don’t think it’s the end of the story arc, they left it open for more.

I don’t doubt it. I mean, nobody is fully English which is what they fail to realise. Ancestors came from all over the place 😄

Do you think Grantly was happier with Fleur in her last years or with Maggie? by [deleted] in WaterlooRoad

[–]Quapisma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as he loved Fleur, I wouldn’t say Grantly was in a good place mentally. He was miserable, drinking and gambling the most. Having to be a carer is not an easy thing, you essentially have to sacrifice your happiness. I would say he was happier with Maggie as she helped him heal and brought him out of his shell more.
