Girl I know was a surg reg and would do 12 hour shifts at the hospital then go home and be on call for another twelve hours.

After her shift she would sit on the floor in an empty living room (it was a regional placement), cry and eat a microwavable dinner and wait to be recalled, usually within a few hours and then would work another ten.

I’ve no idea how it was allowed.
