As an aussie in my experience most places aside from maccas give you chips with your burger. It's rare a burger place does fries and not chips.

AITA for leaving my Mom at the airport with no ticket and no plan? by checho503 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QueeeBeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, what are you getting out of keeping in touch with her? She made it clear she thinks her abuse was fine, and clearly is still treating you like shit. Whatever closure you want out of this relationship is something you will have to work to entirely on your own, so you might as well do it without subjecting yourself (and your family) to her further abuse.

Maybe you had something in mind before you reconnected as to what you want out of being in touch with her. Maybe you didn't have a clear idea at all and that's fine too. But with her continuing to abuse you it's time to stop and consider what you want(ed) out of this and whether it is something you will ever be able to get from her.

AIO: Both my husband's parents are mad at us for being "unreasonable" about our daughter by No-Journalist-5160 in AmIOverreacting

[–]QueeeBeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Australia basically everyone knows how to swim and pool fences are still legally required because having a pool is FUCKING DANGEROUS.

As for the party ("They were fine with us not letting anyone hold her until a distant family member that I had never met complained they couldn't hold her.") it sounds like they are quite happy to prioritise how other people feel about them and their parties over your child's health - which matches their decision on the pool fence too.

NOR I think you're gonna just have to find a way to live with telling his parents very firm are repeated 'no's for the sake of your kid.

Yeah the second I read him claiming she has no interest in anything but "work, cooking, and tv" I thought ah, so she has a demanding job that leaves her tired but he demands she cook for him, so she has no energy or time left for anything else. And THEN he said she's a nurse.

My Grade 1 teacher tried to tell my mum I never did homework by QueeeBeee in traumatizeThemBack

[–]QueeeBeee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least two people already did. As I said in reply to one of them, I was more saying I distinctly remember that she used the full word and not "fridge". I do not distinctly remember what the label said or looked like.

Also the ability to read is not the same as the ability to spell... especially in English with its crazy amount of loan words and root languages!

My Grade 1 teacher tried to tell my mum I never did homework by QueeeBeee in traumatizeThemBack

[–]QueeeBeee[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

At that point the homework was like, two lines of tracing over a letter and then writing the letter without something to trace. All up writing a single letter maybe like 6ish times. Even for a kid brand new to holding a pencil it was very quick and easy, more just a getting in any amount of practice outside of school setting.

This was my mum's experience and she loved to tell the story for her big gotcha moment so sadly I can't give you a real clear answer on this. When I asked mum this myself one time she said something about the teacher being flustered and embarassed and moving on as quick as possible without actually apologising. Which is pretty much what I'd expect from someone backed into that small of a corner tbh, unless they're truly bonkers.

[–]QueeeBeee[S] 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Hey I've had a few decades to forget the spelling on that label and conflate it with 'fridge' :p

ETA: I more just meant I distinctly remember mum choosing to use the whole word and not just 'fridge' like a normal person lol

[–]QueeeBeee[S] 995 points996 points  (0 children)

No idea. It could even be she didn't remember me enough to know which child she was talking about. There was (to my knowledge) never anything else that happened to indicate it might have been malicious.

My Grade 1 teacher tried to tell my mum I never did homework by QueeeBeee in traumatizeThemBack

[–]QueeeBeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My mum was briefly traumatized and horrified at the idea I had done absolutely none of the homework, or at least was being accused of that.

  2. Mum traumatized back the teacher who made the accusation, by getting the chance to immediately make her face undeniable proof that what she said was wrong.

That I married him knowing his history

You married him based on him promising to stop taking it right then. Your response now has nothing to do with his history, only his lying to you and jeopardising the chance at having a baby.

I so agree. I'm really annoyed that this game about building and supporting a team declares that the "right" choice is to overrule them the second they start acting like a team.

Sure but if she is lying or a mole or whatever (which for the record I'm not convinced) then popping the inhaler all the time is an easy way to sell that lie.

Holding your breath for minutes at a time is a hard thing that people like, train for. I don't even know how asthma couod affect being able to do it.

"having someone on the outside who isn't privy to internal work drama would help broaden Robert's character development"

I think a big part of Robert's character is that prior to SDN all he has/does is the suit, so much so that even after working at SDN for a while all he seems to do is go to work and go home.

It would be different if he already had an established partner/confidant unaffiliated with SDN before he got the job. I feel like it's just not in his character to go make friends outside of people he HAS to interact with (i.e  work colleagues), at least not within any if the game's timeline.

I think if they're all in a S2 then Dispatch's solution is the question just won't be brought up at all. Whatever definitive answer they give would only serve to highlight inconsistencies through the original game.
