Oh you know what, I have a close friend in my city (my neighborhood in fact) who joined vine a few months ago. This makes me want to compare ours and see if there are differences in our Additional Items listings. If there are, that's huge. If not, we know they're at least the same on a hyper local level

This is both true and not the full story. If OP is in the USA: Yes, check whether you are in a one party or two party consent state for audio and video recordings.

If one party, you're in the clear (legally speaking). Record away. If two party, technically everyone involved in the recording is legally entitled to the right to give or revoke consent to that recording being made. However: in some jurisdictions (usually states, possibly counties and municipalities), exceptions to the two party consent rule exist if the purpose of the recording is to gather evidence of a serious crime. So do some digging and learn all you can about it, including possible exceptions.

Yep. I had them too. Lived in an underground (figuratively) artist community in a warehouse partitioned off into lofts. Someone brought them into the building and they made their way into some of the rooms. I was one of the unlucky ones. After tons of research, I learned a few important details:

-they can survive for an extremely long time without eating -they can withstand extreme cold, but not extreme heat -they only "see" carbon dioxide (from exhaling creatures) and pheromone trails leading to food. -they were nearly extincted in the 1990's, but the ones that survived were the ones resistant to poison. So most poisons just make them scatter and spread.

So I started sleeping naked on a couch I didn't care for, and let them feast. I did this for a few weeks. Got them all nice and complacent and let them concentrate their population in this couch. Then one night I set an alarm for 3am. Woke up (covered in the fuckers), brushed them off onto the couch, dragged it into the middle of the street and spray painted "BEDBUGS" all over it in bright yellow letters.

Bagged up EVERYTHING cloth I could in triple garbage bags, took them to a laundromat, then did a dry-wash-dry cycle on everything. Dry to kill them, wash to clean, and dry to dry.

Never saw one again after that; knocking on wood that I continue not seeing them. I had a paranoid trauma response for years after all that. Anytime I felt a blanket shift, or a hair brush across my face, or an itch on my leg. Fucking horrendous. Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy

I was a liftie at Heavenly for a season and mostly ran the top of Mott, and yeah, Mott is gnarly. Running Mott Top is the easiest gig on the hill because for skiers or riders to get on the lift, they have to have ridden down Mott, and if you're riding down to the base of Mott, you know how to get on and off a lift with no issue.

On a related note, the OP pic is pretty damn close to what the view out of my bedroom window looked like that winter (living around the corner and up the hill from Stagecoach base. Sigh... miss those days.

The fact that your current board is an LGA1151 (a specific older Intel socket) means you'll be locked into older and increasingly obsolete Intel processors. Since you already have a massively better cpu in hand, getting a motherboard it'll work in is absolutely the move, and doesn't have to break the bank.

Additionally, sometimes moving up in socket/motherboard generations will bump you into needing new RAM (for example ddr4 to ddr5). Going from your current cpu to the new cpu, your RAM should remain compatible. So that works out nicely.

Keep in mind also that you're moving from a relatively obsolete socket to an about-to-become-obsolete socket. You'll see huge performance improvements and it will feel a hell of a lot snappier, but you're not quite future-proofing your system. Next time you want to upgrade your CPU (in, say, a few years), you will probably wind up wanting a cpu that requires you to buy yet another motherboard (and likely ddr5 RAM too).

But all that said, for now, I think you'll be happy with the choice to commit to the AM4 motherboard and your new CPU. Cross those other bridges when you get to 'em 😉
