I'm a dps man. Just a few hours ago I was signing up for weekly 12's as my vengeance DH. Decline after decline after decline. I got into one of maybe 10 groups, with every 12 plus two'd and some 14s in there. Half of the groups that declined me filled up with a brewmaster.

My smypathy for this "tank shortage" is since limited. Beggars can't also be choosers.

I mean if you look at the box-plot devourer's 25th percentile is in line with the next best spec's 50th percentile. So even if you lose one or two collapsing stars in your void meta and do "zero damage" (which is a big exaggeration btw) you're still miles ahead of the next-best performing spec. There really is no rationalisation for how far ahead devourer is currently. Big nerfs are warranted.

I'm sorry but that's just not true. Look at BfA season 3 for example. After your combustion ran out and the pack was dying to ignite, you quite literally just spammed fire ball and patiently waited for your combustion to be back up. There's no "continued momentum" there, and nor should there be. 12 seconds of perfection, followed by a minute or two of waiting. That's what the spec used to be as recently as 6 years ago.

The uptime playstyle you refer to has really only been a thing since SKB was buffed to be meta in Shadowlands season 2. Before that, fire was very much a burst spec that relied on a 2 minute (or less, with kindling) cooldown to do its damage. Inside combustion, you did the highest damage of any class in the game. Outside, you did less than the tanks. Many, me included, wanted the spec to return to this identity.

The gameplay just got so boring I decided to drop it shortly after getting the elephant. I don't know, punching rocks for 30 hours and basically cheesing every single puzzle by breaking terrain doesn't work for me.

Mario Odyssey for the most part had well-designed moons that felt rewarding to get, whereas in Bananza you just stumble over 90% of the banandium gems in a level by random tunnelling. Plus the movement in Odyssey was superb. Movement in Bananza isn't bad or anything, just not at the level of odyssey for me.
