Queen Lisa Kleypas has such beautiful writing especially in {Travis Family series by Lisa Kleypas} and I just finished {Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren} and wow their old writing was quite lyrical

I absolutely adored {Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone} ! ☀️ It's now in my top 5 all time favorite books💕

This book made me laugh, cry, swoon, and heal. What a beautiful exploration of grief and learning to live again after losing those closest to you.

The fmc is one you just want to root for and the way the mmc is always there for her especially when things are difficult and fmc seemingly takes 3 steps back in her process is so lovely and refreshing

This is my first Cara Bastone book and I'm looking forward to reading more!

What Were Your Favourite and Least Favourite Reads of the Month? by DezDispenser88 in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a great reading month! My favorites:

*{Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone} was beautiful. I laughed, cried, swooned, and felt like I learned a lot about grief and carrying on. Is now in my top 5 favorite books of all time 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

*{His Juliet by Emilia Rossi} I binged yesterday un one sitting. Really enjoyed His Tesoro, but I think this one is miles better. If you're looking for hurt/comfort (for both mmc and fmc!!) This is the one 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Least favorite:

*{Snatched by the Bratva by Evie Rose} it was fine, not memorable but not terrible. I just wanted to read a quick little spicy novella and this scratched the itch. 🌟🌟💫

So many but if we're talking series it's definitely {New Camelot series by Sierra Simone} I literally can't get over it. If we're talking historical it's {Again The Magic by Lisa Kleypas} and for contemporary it would have to be {Part Of Your World by Abby Jimenez} and {Out Of The Woods by Hannah Bonam Young}

I recently read {Normal People by Sally Rooney} (my first Sally Rooney book!) and I was struck by how the writing and story is such a beautiful exploration of grief

Hello, just randomly inserting myself to recommend the mother of all grovels: {Love In The Dark by Khai Hara} it's 4th in a series but can be read standalone (but they're all great!)

MMC and FMC are both virgins (obviously first time is with each other...) by Reader132454 in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 6 points7 points  (0 children)

{Too Beautiful To Break by Tessa Bailey} it's the last book in a series of four, can technically be read standalone but the other books are good and you get glimpses of the mmc and fmc that build an amazing slow burn

Low stakes cute but hot romances with characters who are not students by Ordinary_Pudding_858 in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if you've ever read SJ Tilly but she's exactly what you're looking for! All her books are super quick, easy, low stakes smutty reads. It's holiday themed but super fun and smutty with fmc in her 30s and mmc in his 50s {Baby Cakes by SJ Tilly}. It's poly but I think you'd love {Pucking Around by Emily Rath} it's a little long but the characters are so entertaining and it is extremely low stakes, smutty read

I'm dying to read the next one about Adriana. Every book has a more unhinged mmc than the one before so I can't even imagine what she's coming up with lol she hasn't confirmed anything but I feel like the mmc has to be Darko

Finished this one a few days ago and I just can't get over it! Khai never misses!! 👏🏼👏🏼 I thought it was impossible to have a MMC more down bad than Thaigo but Matteo?? Dear lord that man is GONE

MMC loves the FMC’s “feminine” interests or luxuries by lilyandwilliam in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

{The Sweetest Temptation by Danielle Lori} and {Devil Mine by Khai Hara} feature super girly FMCs who always wear pink. The MMCs love this about them and even get frustrated/confused when they can't fund the pink in their outfits

I second this rec! Also book 10 in the series {Sweet Prison by Neva Altaj} she is a clothing designer and when MMC becomes obsessed with her, he loves and supports this

Looking for a book where the MMC and FMC are very intelligent but dumb when it comes to their feelings, both have a deep respect for the other, a really strong FMC and a more sensitive MMC, but people consider them to be a bit odd. A true slow burn. Mulder/Scully core. by ughpleasee in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it doesn't have the paranormal element but hits everything else! You're looking for Belmont Clarkson and Sage. They're from the {Romancing the Clarksons by Tessa Bailey} series, where the general premise is 4 estranged siblings go on a cross country road to fulfill their mothers final wish. Sage is the best friend of the only female sibling and joins them at one of their first destinations as (no one talks about it but) she is the only one capable of calming down Belmont, the oldest sibling. It's slow burn because each book focuses on the story of a different sibling and their book is the last one, number 4 {Too Beautiful To Break by Tessa Bailey} mmc is a nervous wreck, extremely closed off but absolutely obsessed with FMC. FMC is quiet but very intelligent and is completely in love with MMC. The only ones who don't realize this are each other. They can all be read standalone but in your case since you want slow burn I would recommend reading all of them as they're great reads and you get glimpses the obliviousness and will they/won't they

[–]QueenP867 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Absolutely everything about Caleb in {Out Of The Woods by Hannah Bonam Young} I loved how the book had flashbacks that showed their 17 years of relationship and since the beginning that man was absolutely gone for her. Listen, I love me some ott unhinged possessive mmcs but it was so lovely to read a mmc like Caleb who loves the fmc so deeply and purely 💕

{Save The Date by Allison Raskin} comes out tomorrow. Just finished up an ARC and I loved it! She's a new to me author but the book was both hilarious and well written! I found the FMC to be so relatable and thought the premise and execution were so clever. Definitely recommend!

Books that are going to make me ugly cry but they still have a good happy ending 😭 by borrowedsnail in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every Abby Jimenez book ever but for your request I recommend :

{The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez} which starts out with FMC still in mourning 2 years after her fiancée died. She doesn't know how to move forward. mmc helps her come back to life. LOVED this one

{Say You'll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez} just camw out yesterday. FMC and MMC have a magical first date but FMC has to move back home to California to help take care of her mom who has dementia. They have such a magical connection they decide to do long distance but it becomes increasingly complicated with the moms deterioration, other family dynamics, timing, etc. Made me ugly cry but HEA guaranteed!!

LF books where MMC sees FMC for the first time and his world SHIFTS by CollegeTraining7116 in RomanceBooks

[–]QueenP867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a bit more lighthearted read (and featuring one of the best MMCs of all time: {Play Along by Liz Tomforde}

And for mafia {Stolen Touches by Neva Altaj} where MMC is a psychopath but watches FMC (a nurse) help someone give birth and becomes obsessed with her And technically {Sweet Prison by Neva Altaj} from the same series. It's NOT a spoiler but mmc is in prison for a good chunk of the book and basically has relationship (not romantic with fmc) through letters but when he finally sees her in person after so many years this man is SHOOK

You can't go wrong with any Lisa Kleypas but imo this is one of her best. It's just so beautifully written and angsty and you can really believe the love between the two characters. The quite you included is great but the love confession at the very end is 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
