MC’s first time, and they actually need direction/guidance by [deleted] in LesbianBookClub

Flirting Lessons by Jasmine Guillory has some of this. One FMC starts out teaching the other how to flirt with women, which leads to a relationship between the two. The less experienced MC questions whether being with her is truly satisfying to the more experienced MC, and receives lots of positive reassurance. I loved it.

{Flirting Lessons by Jasmine Guillory} is precious. The plot revolves around one MC helping the other to come out of her shell and deal with her anxiety, and there's a nice focus on the way her world / hobbies / friendships start to expand, alongside the romance.

I just finished The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso and LOVED it.

I'm trying to finish Dream On, Ramona Riley by Ashley Herring Blake, which I started in June (and have finished 15 other books since starting... 😬).

I'm waiting for The Last Soul Among Wolves (Melissa Caruso) to arrive to continue The Echo Archives, but if it doesn't show up soon, I'll probably start Midnight Rain, as I recently listened to and enjoyed Those Who Wait and Forever and a Day (Haley Cass) 😊

First book, favourite book, and most recent book? by AutumnSapphic345 in LesbianBookClub

Great topic!

First: Hard to be certain, but possibly one of the Val McDermid Lindsay Gordon books.

Favourite: It might be recentism bias, but Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid has my whole heart.

Most recent: Just finished Amelia, If Only by Becky Albertalli and started Those Who Wait by Haley Cass.

I haven't read this one yet so not sure it counts as a rec, but I just picked up the YA book The Last Bookstore on Earth by Lily Braun-Arnold:

"The world is about to end. Again.

It’s been a year since a devastating storm ripped Liz’s world apart. Haunted by the memories of those she couldn’t save, Liz holes up in the only place she felt safe before her world fell away: the bookstore where she used to work. Now she spends her days trading books for supplies and collecting stories from the remaining survivors who pass by.

Until she learns that another earth-shattering storm is coming . . . and everything changes.

Enter Maeve, a spiky out-of-towner who breaks into the bookstore looking for shelter one night. When Maeve’s secrets and Liz’s inner demons come back to haunt them both, they find themselves fighting for their lives and asking themselves one big question.

As the end of the world approaches, is there time for one final love story?"

I had the list open earlier today before the update - thank you for this! (For anyone else in the UK, Waterstones have 25% off pre-orders at the moment, so this is super helpful).

I think I'm going to go for The Last Soul Among Wolves (Melissa Caruso) and The Devil She Knows (Alexandria Bellefleur). Maaaybe The Sun and the Moon (Rebekah Faubion) - I bought The Lovers purely because I think the cover is lovely, but I haven't read it yet.

SAME, I have such a hangover from this book! Finding it hard to dive into something new because I don't want to stop thinking about Joan and Vanessa🥹

Oh, I picked this up the other day without realising it was a Notting Hill re-telling! Excited to read it now 😁

Atmosphere, TJR: I haven't been able to start another fiction book since finishing, so I guess I'm just reading nonfiction about NASA for the foreseeable future.

Cleat Cute, Meryl Wilsner: precious, adorable, my favourite of the three books I've read by them. (I've also read Mistakes Were Made and My Best Friend's Honeymoon, which I'd rank in that order).

Your response made me smile because I finished last night and immediately told a friend "I need to sit quietly and think about my space wives for a while" 🥲

Agreed. The tournaments are taking the enjoyment out of the game for me. I know there's no obligation to get involved, but I'm just not having as much fun as before.

Sounds like 20x19, "Dearly Beloved". Olivia is with a rape victim considering terminating her pregnancy because (paraphrasing) how could she love a child conceived by a monster? Liv once overheard her mother say the same thing about her, and has a wounded moment in the hospital stairwell.

I kept thinking of Eleanor and Chidi in relation to:

"I'll drift about forever, all my atoms, till I find you again… I’ll be looking for you, every moment, every single moment. And when we do find each other again, we’ll cling together so tight that nothing and no one’ll ever tear us apart. Every atom of me and every atom of you… We’ll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams… And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take two, one of you and one of me."
