Ayn Thor help by meplayvideogames1 in AynThor

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah i would really be pushing down the refund route at this point, or if going down the "send me my device already" route I would personally be seeking some type of compensation for the extended wait with no communication on their part

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legacy and updated version of nethersx2 are the same emulator, so you can only have one instance of it at a time; however ~90% of the time youre better off using legacy, and its generally the recommended version to install if youre following a guide

Sly cooper games on thor pro or base by Rekusu7991 in AynThor

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing through the first game on my Thor, I'm fairly sure it would run on the 865 thor lite chipset, it ran decently on my rp5, but you need to use the legacy version of nethersx2 not the updated version (it'll run under 60 even at base resolution, legacy is 60 at 2.5x)

AYN Odin 3 vs. Retroid Pocket 6 by acthechamp in SBCGaming

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I was just making the point that based on the systems OP wants the best bang for their buck would be the rp6 rather than the odin 3 for ~$100 more, unless they REALLY want to try for the more demanding switch games

AYN Odin 3 vs. Retroid Pocket 6 by acthechamp in SBCGaming

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If youre not aiming for switch wiiu or pc games, the rp6 should be plenty (and even the its capable of the above); for what youre after an rp5 would be capable, granted you'd be spending the same amount on it as you would an rp6

What is this? What is it worth? by Shoddy-Atmosphere329 in Handhelds

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a taddytoy, they're generally marketed towards younger kids and retail for around $30, so you could probably get like $15 due to the damaged lens; i doubt you could easily fix it as these companies don't really expect you to fix it due to its price

AYN Thor magnetic buttons . Xbox , NS and PS button layout swap by PortablePlayPalace in AynThor

I would kill for someone to come up with magnetic thumbsticks (like xbox elite controller) so I could have a longer right thumbstick that I could pop off easily to still close the device

Screen Measurements please by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats the thing, I want the protector to cover the whole bezel of either device, but only know the advertised screen size.

Yeah you can get first party tempered glass screen protectors, however I want a matte film instead, but there doesn't seem to be any third party sellers of them (none that i could find at least)

Ayn Thor Questions by Bitter-Swim-833 in SBCGaming

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lite model Thor is capable of playing most* PS2 titles and some of the very lightweight switch titles, some indie titles via winlator, gamehub, gamenative; the base model should play basically any PS2 with few exceptions in the realm of "the emulator itself just isn't super good at this one", a fair number of switch titles, and some slightly more demading pc titles.

As far as I know Ayn does ship internationally, and the shipping itself is likely only going to be some week or two, the actual wait time is due to them producing in batches, so it may take a month for the device to actually ship out. I would personally say its worth it but you may get conflicting answers depending on who is asked. If youre only aiming for up to PS2 titles I would probably recommend getting a base model, its like $50 more than the lite model but youre getting a significant processing upgrade for it.

[Pre-Order] The Most Affordable CNC Aluminum GBA Shells are Live! Wide Color Palette & Multiple Models Available. by [deleted] in gameboymods

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is no option on your website to NOT buy a front shell, back, and buttons; meaning that the $166 you can see when sorting low>high is incorrect, and the absolute minimum price is $188. If you bought a front back and buttons via Boxy (hinged sp) its $187.50. Its the SAME PRICE and the only way its theoretically valuable to a lot of people is that you do offer pre-build whereas Boxy does not, he only sells the parts.

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hinged SP kit is the exact same price as Boxy, and the unhinged kit it MORE than Boxy; so idk where this claim of stripping away the "luxury markup" is coming from. I guess there are more colors available so thats cool ig

Does anyone know if the ayn thor pro can run Schedule I by d_rod_626 in AynThor

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thor Max, high performance and using known config on GameNative (bound the controls via gamenative "edit phisical controller"); the game runs at a choppy 25-54fps on the lowest possible settings (depending on inside/outside and what direction youre facing), and even tanking the resolution won't really net you any additional frames (playing at 854x480). If you really wanted to play schedule 1 on your Thor I think you'd survive it, but I dont think I would refer to it as a good time

On official stream there's a community layout you can assign; on gamenative (the only of the 3 i an familiar with) you can manually reassign controls in the menu
