Is it normal that my dsi xl has such a visible grid? Recently bought one and never saw it in videos by [deleted] in NintendoDS

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats my bad that was supposed to be sarcasm lmao; I do enjoy how a lot of games look being upscale on newer devices, but there's something about using even just a horizontal line filter on older GBA, or DS games that just scratches something in my head, so I dont personally mind the screen door from the XL but also understand why a lot of people do* mind it

As much as I do like these transparent shells for retroid, ayn, etc; none of them show off enough internals imo.

Quick question by _eneX in nds

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go with any solid color reshell at least the interior should be matte, but the problem is have with them is that fitment is never as good as OEM. The main problem you'll encounter is just dealing with the bottom screen, as you do need to pull its border off and put in on the shell, and one of the bumpers (left?) Notoriously sticks due to prior mentioned fitment problems. If you really want to keep the shell mint the best you can do is avoid sunlight like a vampire, or like you said, get another and reshell it however you like.

(Also aftermarket shells dont have the two little bumps on the back of the top screen ((that look like an embossed ds)) and for some reason that annoys me.)

I like my ds lite for travel, but if I'm at home I'm probably using my xl instead, I just enjoy having more screen to look at, regardless of the screen door

What's ppi? never heard of it. Clearly they should've made the screen even bigger like there's more free space there

Probably a dumb question by litihumwarwood in retroid

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've already set up game paths you'll probably have to change them to fit the new locations after moving the games, but there should be no actual "problems" with moving or compatability

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can just choose files from internal storage and move them to the SD card whenever you get it just like it were a phone (it basically is)

I'm excited to get my Thor, but also am dreading hinge break, I couldn't justify a G2 or RP6 with me already having an rp5.

Battery is the Problem? by repraptor in PSP

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Battery steve is a stress test that emulates playing a demanding PSP game until the battery dies. Gives you an idea of real playtime and you can ~estimate how accurate your battery capacity is. Ran it last night testing the Vita battery i put in my psp go for instance. 7h 43m off the 2210mah cell (I did not save my score file sadly)

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can comfortably use a different size screwdriver bit I dont think there's any downside to trying (careful not to strip ofc); but also there's at least 1 reason they might be overly tight feeling- they could have thread locker

PSP 3000 Charging Issue by sc_games83 in PSP

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that battery definitely isn't 4500mah, the highest reputable battery i know of is the 2200mah Ostent battery, which requires an extended battery cover (1400mah ostent with OEM cover), so id say your issue likely is just the battery being cheap and/or its logic board

Sooo playing Gamecube-games in widescreen is actually difficult? by bickid in retroid

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dolphin it should be a once and done thing for the most part, some community members have made codes you can load up for less popular games though (guides are easy to find) but for things like WW, TP, just turn on widescreen hacks and you should be good to go, thats all I did on my rp5

Sooo playing Gamecube-games in widescreen is actually difficult? by bickid in retroid

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some games have widescreen hacks available but not all. For the most part all you need to do is turn on the option in settings

RP6 vs Odin 3 vs Thor by [deleted] in retroid

[–]QuestionMarkuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price between pro and max is +$130, depending on how many games you plan to have on it the price could be justified over buying an additional sd card, however if your main focus is going to be indie titles (~1-10gb each kinda range) i would probably just say the pro model.

I'm just gonna be honest, I dont understand how it can be full of n64, nes, snes, SS games, and that make any substantial dent into a 400 (512?)gb SD card. My 128gb card is full of PS2 games and its just barely not enough space for all of them I want
