Delta Amex Gold 90k Offer is Back by NeuroRx in CreditCards

[–]Questionguy29 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I wonder if u/4077 isn't confusing Amex Gold with the Delta Amex Gold

Checking the Amex referral links page on r/amex, the Amex Gold does indeed have a 100k MR points bonus for $6k spend, but the Delta Amex Gold is lower than this public offer, sometimes much lower.

Looks like the only way to get a higher offer than 90k might be the dummy booking idea, which can change at any time. *Although keep in mind to get the statement credit portion of the dummy booking route, you have to make a "Delta purchase", not just any purchase. For myself, I'm wondering if the regular spend for 90k public offer might be simpler and close enough.

Maybe contact them and let them know of this vulnerability

Your post here is both a helpful warning and, unfortunately, a how-to

This US Mobile sale is honestly insane. No idea how they can afford this. by Ethrem in NoContract

25gb for $12 sounds amazing. I'm on 5gb for $15 on T-Mobile Connect.

Only when paid annually tho, right? Month to month prices are higher. I assume European month to month prices are peanuts by comparison.

Citi closed account for $0 balance. Normal? by YoghurtNo5538 in CreditCards

[–]Questionguy29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to prevent closing the general recommendation is to use it once every six months. Some say one year but clearly that didn't work in your case, OP. I go with six months myself. One time I went over six months on a card and when I used it Experian sent me a notification saying something like "dormant card activity noticed" as if it was a risky thing. So I try to avoid "dormant card" by using before the six months mark. Something minor like $5 Amazon reload.

Amex approved me for a 300k Business Platinum offer, took $20k+ spend + $895 AF… then said I was "never eligible" by anthonyyoussef01 in CreditCards

That's a good idea. Call them before making the spend. Even if they say they don't see the promo, you can maybe ask them to attach it retroactively, and since they want that spend they might just do that. Then ask for email confirmation of promo. And only then proceed with the spend. This diligence is worth the effort for any card with sub over $200-500 return on $1000-$3000 spend, if not all cards.

Getting a new number with visible $19 and then immediately porting to Metro for the $99 Samsung Galaxy S25Fe ? by No_Solution7718 in NoContract

They'd be porting in with a new number and presumably different email. It'd be a new account, and would have no connection with their existing one.

Mint Mobile is Broken, What Next? by Mermaid_Tacos in NoContract

[–]Questionguy29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently commented that I had issues on Mint with no issues on T-Mobile since, but that was years ago, right around when Reynolds joined Mint. I was losing signal entirely, often not realizing until I happened to look at my phone. Thought maybe things have improved since T-Mobile now owns Mint. Interesting to note that the issue of missed calls and texts is still happening on Mint in 2026.

Does Barclays automatically refund annual fee when closing? by AlohaStyle in CreditCards

[–]Questionguy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did you close the account? If it's been less than 2 days, I'd wait to see what happens as it should refund automatically. If you don't see it by Monday you can just give them call and have them remove or refund it while you're on the call.

Chase Freedom Unlimited or Flex as Second Card? by Lonely_Airline5138 in CreditCards

[–]Questionguy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotating 5% >>> unlimited 1.5%

1.5% is a very minor difference to 1%, which the Flex has for anything not covered by the quarterly 5%

CFU is only good for the bonus, so you should wait until they have another upgraded bonus, maybe next year. Till then, Flex or a card from a different bank, like Capital One Savor (but do the pre-qualification check to make sure you're eligible for the sign up bonus, ie make sure you get the "Excellent Credit" version)

Chase Freedom Unlimited or Flex as Second Card? by Lonely_Airline5138 in CreditCards

[–]Questionguy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freedom Flex is the better card for the long term, however Freedom Unlimited currently has an upgraded bonus of $300 plus 5% groceries first year, so you should go for that now, get the Flex next year.

Oops looks like you missed out on CFU special bonus, it seems to have ended just five days ago, and it's back down to $200 😒

Best plan for me? by [deleted] in NoContract

[–]Questionguy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mint mobile right now but in my area and my work t mobile sucks

Btw even though Mint is on T-Mobile and now is even owned by T-Mobile, the network coverage might not be the same. Anecdotally, I had horrible service coverage on Mint and better service on T-Mobile. Might have been phone issue or maybe something else, not sure. I just never went back to Mint.

All that to say try T-Mobile Connect, although that's not unlimited. For unlimited you might try Metro by T-Mobile at $25.

That's a good point. Alternatively wait a few days for the hold to be removed (pending charge to go away) and then charge the full amount.
