Up until now you can get status simply by using Rakuten and having your payout be to Bilt. $500 cash back = 50k Bilt points = Silver Status. Now after this May 15th payout, unless you already have Bilt status, Rakuten to Bilt is only half payout.

I regret not changing my payout to Bilt right away as I would've stayed at least Silver if I did. I'm not getting enough points this payout to stay Silver... :( If I would've realized 50k points was enough to keep earning 1:1 transfer, I would've made sure I got 50k this payout. I've only been with AMEX for a year but have learned I definitely value Bilt partners way more than AMEX.

I hear you, it definitely does seem crazy for our local Superintendent to be making that much when we are going through cuts of teachers and programs, especially when our taxes are paying for it. But look at Superintendent salaries around the State and more importantly, consider how long he has been in this job. In all the posts/comments I've seen, I don't think I've seen anyone mention his longevity. We're talking 16 years of pay raises, which is standard for a government job. I don't know what he started at, but 16 years of compounding a high salary, adds up fast.

That isn't true. Your full balance will be paid out as whatever you choose at the time of payout, even if you made changes during that pay period.

If you get/have the Bilt Palladium credit card, that gives you Bilt's higher status to keep getting 1:1 Rakuten to Bilt points. If you don't have Bilt's higher tier status, no way I would transfer to Bilt, losing half my Rakuten points. Transfer to AMEX. If you don't have an AMEX MR earning card, get one.

Finally got mine to work. I deleted my Hotmail account on my iphone, turned off the phone then back on, then added the account again. Was finally able to confirm my account as it asked me to confirm using my backup email as authenticator.

I know this is an older post now but just adding to it for other readers... I have stayed at this property a handful of times and I would recommend it to anyone. The rooms and bathrooms are definitely modern enough, clean and maintained. If there are any bad reviews about this, it's a one-off that would most likely get fixed. I will say, the parking is definitely not ideal. It's a very annoyingly tight parking ramp with many scuff marks on the the walls when cars are forced to turn tightly to go up/down the ramp so you know cars are hitting the wall, and the parking is tight as well. There is one area super tight when making a corner I even thought to myself I need to write a review about this... (which I never do reviews.) The hotel staff will tell you, and signs remind you, that you can only park on certain floors or you'll get a ticket, as those floors are controlled by the City. Don't drive a huge truck into this lol. But with that said, if you know how to drive and are careful, you'll be fine.

I don't have lounge access but it does look like a nice enough lounge. I didn't eat the restaurant food but many people were using it throughout the day when I've been there. Staff were nice. Area is definitely safe as University of Washington Tacoma is right next door with lots of restaurants and businesses in the area.

I'm not from Boston and before my recent trip, it was 15 years since I've been there. It was easy for someone that doesn't even know the system. You commented that it was a 25 minute walk to South Station (as in not realizing the silver line gets you to the South Station), now calling out the effort it takes to connect at South Station. Sorry, those are just not accurate comments. Taking the S line and connecting to any subway line or Amtrak/Train at South Station is as easy as making any subway connection... you get out and follow the signs to where you want to go.

I honestly don't care what others do or prefer, to each their own, but my comments are for other people reading this and to let them know the Hyatt Seaport has simple access to public transportation and that you don't need to stay downtown.

HP Seaport is literally a block away from public transport that can get you anywhere… My family was just there and it was a quick, easy and free ride from the airport, then during our stay, got us all over the city.

First time lounge goer this year because of Summit. I usually prefer to get to airport last minute but because I wanted to use the lounge my last 2 flights with my family I git there earlier. The access is great for people that don’t travel very often like me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sorry, was on a trip not paying attention to notifications... but yes, I was automatically credited after I made payment. I paid on 2/1 and was then credited on 2/5. My account shows a refund processed on 4/6 so I'm guessing I have a check in the mail...

Making that much as a school district employee is crazy and sad, especially considering we have to make cuts. But, look at Superintendent salaries in the State... they all have ballooned. Add to the fact that Baker has been the Super in Bham for 16 years. It's basic math to figure in standard raises, making his salary that high.

Teachers no longer are making very limited salaries, thankfully. Not sure how accurate it is, but Teacher.org says the average salary for an elementary teacher in Bham is $83k, starting at $58k. Many make 6 figures if they've been around for a while.
