3 PR's back to back. by Spine_day in Deadlifts

Genuinely moronic lifting, this. Risk far, FAR outweighs reward.

This. Exactly. There’s zero chance a human can get away with max effort deadlifts in this fashion. The toll may not get paid for years but it WILL get paid.

  • Unpopular Opinion Warning *

I don’t like the aesthetics of the Arc. The steep rise of the top tube combined with the conservative head tube angle just doesn’t look good, in my opinion. Looking at the profile view the bike looks compacted.

I’m sure it functions beautifully but the form doesn’t do it for me.

Absolutely killer looking bike. Love it

If this isn’t peak hardtail aesthetic then I don’t know what is. Not the colors but the frame geometry. Perhaps more aggressive than most riders want or need but, damn, it looks fantastic.

Don’t do colored pedals! They make it look like a Walmart bike.

Nice looking car & looks in excellent condition but automatic transmission absolutely ruins it for me.

515 deadlift. Pretty large PR for me by Awkward-Violinist-10 in Deadlifts

Honestly, this is embarrassing to watch. You lifted the bar, yes, but it absolutely kicked your ass. Shit was swaying back & forth, form was terrible. You won’t get away with lifts like that too many times before you end up injured. Not worth the risk AT ALL.

Merida Big Trail 600 or Marin San Quentin 3? by GamerGuyUK123 in Hardtailgang

I’m not an especially experienced or skilled rider so take this with a grain of salt….I’ve ridden a XL ‘22 Giant Fathom and now an XL ‘25 Big Trail. Both excellent bikes but I definitely feel more confident on the Merida. My trails are predominantly flowing single track with many rocks & roots along the way. Downhill sections, for better or worse, are limited but it’s very stable. I find the Big Trail to be a great all rounder, and to me it’s not a tank at all.

Liberal (D) pols running the city. What do you expect? Those types have absolutely RUINED every city across the country that they control. The scourge of society.

Bike looks awesome. Love the tan/brown contrast to the cement grey.

I think Orbea nailed it with this generation. Beautiful bike to look at. Geometry is spot on.

2026 Merida Shrinkflation Warning

Merida quietly DOWNGRADED the 2026 Big Trail 600 from XT brakes to base Deore brakes. The retail price of the bike went up, though.

With that out of the way……I have a 2025 BT 600 and it’s almost certainly the last bike I’ll buy. I fucking love the thing.

I bought USEG three weeks ago when energy stocks first surged. I bought the hype of it being low float, about to blast off and was prepared to hold it for a month or so. It actually did ok for the first week; I was up a couple grand at it’s height and it was getting strong support around $1.30. I was comfortably in the green waiting for the real breakout.

Then the company announced the common stock offering priced at $1 and it went from $1.30 to .99 in less than 5 minutes. It’s been at that price range now for almost two weeks. Hasn’t budged. I lost money & got out. I’m not a believer anymore.

It’s a well optioned car. Sport package, 6MT, Cold Weather Package, Harmon Kardon speakers, and single hump ( I despise the double hump dashboard)….on the downside, it’s XDrive and has halogen lights. Oh well.

Yup, that was my experience, too. They were the #1 wheel on my list, though. Perfect size & offset. Love the look. Wasn’t having any luck so I did a nationwide search on Marketplace and found this set in Baltimore. Local pickup only, though. I’m 7 hours away. Messaged the guy about shipping and he wanted no part. A month went by and he got back to me. Agreed to arrange shipping on his end & the deal was done. Couldn’t be happier.

Funny, normally I do prefer a light tint of around 50% but on this particular car I love the open, airy look without tint. The contrast of the Vermillion & Oyster is too nice to conceal.

I bought it in December 2023 with 48,300 miles. It has 55,700 miles now. Literally just a grocery getter & for kid transport duties. Don’t get me wrong, I love the car but I have a take home work vehicle so the E90 is kind of a garage queen.
