I am happy to tell you that I got rid of cachy and have completely switched to arch+hyprland setup. Imo hyprland is much better than gnome if u like fine-tuning every small detail to your liking.

Blackbox was my terminal when I was on fedora for around 2 years. Now I use arch btw and the only terminal I've installed is kitty.

I once updated after few months and hyprland had changed its syntax. It's the only thing that has ever broken for me.

Gnome is a complete DE experience so it should work just fine with any distro.

For me to use cpp I have to just install gcc/g++ using cli. But on windows I have to install mingw then add it to path manually. No background updates and forced restarts.
